  1. Have a flick around any surrounding fields late at night with a lamp will give a good idea of whats going on and any possible ambush routes for the net maybe
  2. Stunning jim fair play every thing looks great. As for the calabreeze well that puts the tesco veg to shame for sure. I was feeling chuffed just because I managed to put 3 bags of broadbeans in the freezer this week Oh keep us posted on the rhubarb water
  3. Some great pictures there that is one hell of a plot are you sure its big enough How are your Brassica looking so healthy with out netting no caterpillar damage ?
  4. Them onions look healthy too bet they are going to taste good. Fed up of shop bought ones that don't keep very well
  5. That is a pain darbo I didnt think they would be that keen to enter a netted section for fear of getting trapped. But seen few flapping about stuck in other peoples netting. If I catch any in mine they will be introduced to mr short crust
  6. Yea I was expecting to get pulled going down dual carrageway Plenty of lettuce to come there jj and are they onions in the pots on the left ? Got few bits from my containers in the back yard tonight looking forward to the runners
  7. Very envious of every ones fruit loads of raspberries the size of strawberries and plenty of black currents. Birds are having a great time of it saw a black bird nearly have a hernia trying to fly off with a raspberry. Seems to be the neglected allotments have the most fruit too. Going to have to sort some thing for next year
  8. Biked up the allotment this morning at 5 get things done before the sun gets nasty. 13. My grandmothers stews god knows what she put in but they were delicious and small farms with the old boys hobbling around but still making a living from there few cows and sheep. Now some rich sod owns about 5 of them and uses them for play areas ( just jealous)
  14. Wanted working Rotavator west wales area Thanks
  15. Sowed a couple of rows of Dwarf French beans this morning Cabbages are looking very healthy and pest free so far under the netting My mate on the allotment who gave me these plants told me these where courgettes but this looks like a marrow ? Surprising how quick things grow in about 6 weeks from this to this 8 yards left to dig I have sliced turf off and I will be glad to get it done
  16. Superb looks delicious and that reminded me my grandparents used to make strawberry jam from our garden must get some runners sorted
  17. Yh the best busher ive ever seen work was a brittany she would smash through any cover without hesitation and go on all day long but obviously always needed the extra couple of lurchers when quarry was flushed. Obviously using a dedicated busher eg: spaniel or terrier type with a couple of lurchers outside is alot more affective But thats what I was thinking if I used a bedy whippet id only need 1 other lurcher to be on the outside as the beddy whip could get out of the cover and give chase across open ground aswell (if it sees it leave the cover of course). Hypothetically it would never
  18. Only had the one as a lad and as above really great little dog. Best bit was she was so easy to have around and extremely light and portable so no problem to just pop under your arm if you had to negotiate a horrible fence. Lot of dog in a very small package One in my avatar by the way
  19. Yea I was glad to see him settle back down if he wants to go mad do it going up much safer I can see old Schleck making a show on the hills too
  20. yea complete chaos bus driver should have given it welly and got out the way sooner. Instead of being mr careful just because he had few million people looking at him
  21. Fitness is just training (which takes lot of dedication) but it amazes me the speeds they reach takes guts that. Think they can clear 65mph I need a nappy change if I get past 30
