  2. Never seen that wire before, i will have to have a look at some, i have seen the snap link's for flyfishing, not exactly the same as them but similar, will look at the wire for deadbait trace's, i use drennan 7 strand 28lb, been ok up to now, but alway's willing to have a look at something else.

  4. Sounded like a good day, i'd have a go at them barbel, sound's like decent fishing.
  5. Try and use a fly that doesn't take on water, it should help with the weight, broad wing type fly's, zonker's, matuka's and streamer type's should work, good luck.
  6. A pike's mouth is a lot harder than a trout's, that esthwaite is some place isn't it mate, i've fished it for trout but not pike, some big girl's in there.
  7. First thing in the morning i have found best, i am shocked that you blanked, what size lure's were you throwing.
  8. The liverpool/leed's canal has produced perch upto 31/2lb and probably over, lot's of perch in there, just got to find the better one's, also the bridgewater in runcorn has produced some cracker's, not sure on size, river dee aswell, but for being local i would say the liverpool/leed's, lot's of great looking place's to try, and they love lure's and spinner's.
  9. Roy's safe as house's, even if we didn't get out the group he would still of been ok, nothing was expected, so it's a bonus from now on, i would rather face italy than some of them, if it was spain, no-one would expect anything, but cause it's italy people think we have a chance, i think we might have a good chance.
  10. I have come close a few time's, i think i will give it a try, it's mainly jack's upto around 7lb-8lb, so should be ok, i hope that doesn't come back and bite me.
  11. If i used my normal fly gear i would not be able to lift some of them fly's, and to set the hook, my rod would be bent over to the handle, but i have got a 8dt line and a 8-9 weight rod that never get's used and i have been thinking of trying it out, but have heard you need 10-11 wt gear, thank's for the set up guide niall, if you made your own trace's, would you have a loop one end and a safe-lok link the other end, or is there some other link, thank's. that is pretty much it for me on the trace, yeah the loop on one end and the safe-lok on the other. just depends what type safelock tho.
  12. Your right, the place would end up closed, i'll be checking all the shop's now.
