  1. i use to use the mother to havoc on rabbits she was very good on them hoover you a bag full every nite and she was a first x i agree bullx's do catch bunnys mate, like i said some even do it well, but dont you think they are more 1 offs than anything else, do you think the rest of the family/litter could have done same job??? an more to the point would you have kept the whole family or others from line as bunny dogs?? i aint talking about dogs that can or could catch other stuff preban, im talking about guys who keep dogs just for bunnys
  2. anybody know this dude?? he keeps stalking me profile on this site, i have asked him why, an yet he get all cryptic, this guy has been on my profile everday since he has joined, yet he aint posted or nowt, im betting the dude is 1 strange cookie
  3. well my two penneth worth is, that there are far too many folks out there that are willing to breed from dogs, an all becuase they are blinkered, why do folks feel the need to breed off a dog or a bitch that wasnt bred for the bunnys, or even breed off a dog an bitch if they know there are better out there why do folks feel the need to have a pup out of there old bitch?? why not a pup that in unrelated is it kennel blindness for the record i have seen some bullx's catch bunnys, an catch them well, but are they rabbit dogs??? not a dig at anybody just a genuine question
  4. but if i had a bullx that was doing the job on bunnys, an refused fox an anything else, would you use it across ye bunny dog??
  5. i cant beleive this aint been sold, unfortunatley my lad is only 5 an my wee lassie is 4, an i just got the seelands suits for them, if my kid was right age id a took it, its a bargain
  6. why not? so if you owned a top class rabbit bitch and wanted to breed a pup of her and you new of 2 good stud dogs, 1 was a purpose bred rabbit dog and the other a failed hare coursing dog but was better on rabbits than the purpose bred rabbit dog would you not use the coursing dog? if not why if your looking to breed rabbit dogs. everyone always says do best to best breeding when you can. by going the best to best rule, would it not be better to either get a pup in out of the best 2 rabbit dogs you can find, or if your bitch was bred for rabbits, then put the best bunny dog you can
  7. right lets see your rabbit dogs, dogs that are worked mainly or solely on bunnys.. even if its a dog that wasnt bred for bunnys, but thats the job they do.. do yous think if a dog that was bred for summat else, (say a bullx for pre ban fox, an the dog has failed on fox, or even a coursing dog that has failed on hares but takes bunnys well,) do you think the dogs should be bred from, to make more bunnys dogs?? lets see ye pics an hear ye thoughts
  8. i need a dog to jump, but i do agree double fences are a bit of a fooker, i tend to try an get my dog round or under most of them, but there is sometimes i need them to go over, an old bitch learning to jump.
  9. woman should never stuck her face in the dogs face, especially after stroking round his mouth, but the guy holding the dog knew the dog was not to be trusted tho imo, as he had his fingers under the collar the whole time, so an not to gee the dogs any room to move, who ever the most fault lies with, it was a mistake an could have been a lot worse
  10. after you figured it out, cut the hairs off the tip of the older hobs tail just make sure you dont get tail , itll take a while to grow in an the ferrets dont even notice, always easier to see who's who if a coupel are identical
  11. the dog will be fine pal, if you aint in any hurry tho id do it over a period of time, slowly but surely an by end of summer he will be sleeping outside without any problems, i wouldnae worry about his smooth coat lthousands of smooth coated dogs sleep in kennels up an down the country, mine included, just make sure the dog has got a cosy draft free bed an he will be fine, he may whine tho, especially if you say he is prone to a bit if left in crate, but even that can be overcome
  12. Just an update. Trev has now gone to stay with some other friend of Mushys. The cash expected last month arrived, but that promised this month has not. Regardless of what this lot think, you screwed me over. Simple. he is a wrong un, you tried your best with the guy, a lot more than you should have, or i would have
  13. iv been out with a line bred suluki/whippet mate, i was told it was from the 3rd gen of this line an it was probs around 22ats an nice an lighlty built, i only ever seen it on lamp an it done well, very well infact, but i was assured it was more than capable during the day aswell, but thats up here in north yorks in smallish fields, wouldnt like to say 1 way or other about daytime in places like fens
  14. northallerton is a kangerooooooooo court, all the best cluckey, keep at em
  15. if you want a dog for bushing, a failed digging terrier or a terrier x beagle or spaniel will be the best bet, if you want a dog for ferreting, then id stick to a small lurcher, if you intend on lamping the dog aswell, get a slightly larger lurcher an itll do both well with the right time put in, tho its gonna be your dog an its gonne be with yu a long time, so if you get on with gundogs, then get 1, a gundog will learn to ferret an bush for you, dont rush in kid, take your time an choose wisely
  16. iv had my share of all the above, good, bad an rubbish
  17. bushing is getting a dog to enter bushes or ccover an make bunnys or whatever else is layin in there to bolt
