  2. thanks for reply everyone......ive decided its going to be a bitch.. a mate of a mate has some pups 8 weeks old..... dam is a 1st cross deer/grey and sire a 3/4 grey/1/4 bull x collie grey and theres a bitch in the litter what i like the look of.....both parents are grafters. so i will be going back for her tommorow will keep updated with pics atb dhg

Just wondering what everyone runs and their opinions? i have always ran a bitch as i seem their more loyal and not as head strong.... but since my bitch got killed in august last year i think now is the right time to get another dog. im undecided as to whether to try a dog? whats everyones experiences? thanks dhg
  6. thanks for the posts everyone, i know its a risk you take but you never think it will happen to yourself.....`maybe some people are right and say i cant like the sport that much :-/ i have done it for 6 years with friends and 3 of those years was dedicated to amber!! i love the thrill of training a pup up and watching my pride and joy take quarry. maybe in time i will feel different but atm i cant see my mind changing.... once again thankyou for the comments phil
  7. thats what i keep saying to myself, what if id have walked a different way....what if id have left the house ten minutes later, it was a freak accident which has caused so much pain
  8. she wasnt just a worker, she was a family pet.... she came everywhere with me and i dont feel i could give another lurcher as much love as i gave to her...she was a real diamond and did everything i asked of her. thankyou for the nice comments its nice to have a community who understands. phil
  9. just a note to say farewell lurchermen and women.... my 3/4 collie greyhound got hit buy a truck the other night lamping and the devestation and heartache it has caused is so unreal, i hope all of you have many happy years working and wish you all the best.. phil

  13. good luck with the pups, i agree with a couple of people on here of maybe keeping a bitch and once shes had a few seasons under her belt put her to a full greyhound... should be handy dogs. keep us updated with pics atb dhg
