  1. Thanks but how does a dogs genes differ from any other animals apart from them being of a dog or any other animal. How does breeding in produce recessive traits?
  2. When you say "its just what happens" Wheres your evidence? I mean apart from studies on google I mean. I am certainly not saying you can breed indefinitely in. The idea is to fix traits or putting it another way to make the animal double dominant for the desired traits mental or physical. So on that basis if you had a dog that was DD for all the traits you wanted in your dog, say courage, drive, speed, stamina, intelligence plus physically sound, great feet, etc etc He would be a prepotent animal that would mask any recessive faults in bitches put to him and likely to produce good offspring.
  3. That exactly the point. You have great stock and you dont want to loose it.
  4. Thats the trouble with trying to gain knowledge in 5 minutes on Google. You'll never learn anything mate, your too busy trying to sound clever.
  5. Dogs, horses, cows, sheep, chickens, Racing pigeons etc have all at some time been bred tight to fix traits. Look up Robert Bakewell in agriculture and you can find out for yourself how inbreeding has shaped the livestock of today.
  6. Its just the way you interpret everything, you are like a child. Stop trying to score points, we all know both parents have to have the same recessive, but in a limited gene pool everytime you cull a fault you are cleansing the gene pool. Isnt that obvious? I didnt say it could happen in one go. The fault may not be evident in another sibling because it is masked by a pure dominant, but never the less you have still lessened the chance of it appearing. Most physical faults are recessive.
  7. And every time you remove these faults from a breeding program you are removing them from the strain. Ive seen a few Greyhounds with very bad mouths but it didnt effect there track work.
  8. You cant have a discussion with an idiot, and we both know you are one. I see the laughing face is back in strength. You cant shake him off can you. You ruin most threads with your attention seeking, but you havnt much to say really apart from knocking other peoples dogs. No real knowledge or experience of breeding. Youd better keep in with your mates though eh? lick lick lick arse.. or they might not sell ££££ you any more pups.
  9. Its the quickest and simplest way of fixing traits that you want in a dog or any animal really. Outcrossing is always a gamble. If it wasnt we could all breed Derby winners. A lot of old timers inbred like mad but they wouldnt admit to it.
  10. Your not having the craic. Cant you get into your head Im not linebreeding Im inbreeding. Thats IN. You are so dim its unbelievable. You stick to getting them off other people and dont worry about race horses and coursing Greyhounds. Let others who know what they are doing breed for you.
  11. 2 1/2 inch leather padded collar with a 2inch buckle.
  12. No not line breeding. In and in we call it. Varying results" says it all about your own breeding record, and thats why you rely on others, because you dont have what it takes to produce the goods. Thats what you get with scatter breeding mate, and has to your standards I neither know nor care, all I do know is you are a man who thinks by mocking others he can look good, but your subconscious mind gives it away by putting a laughing face at the end of almost every sentence. You are a joke?
  13. Everyone knows you dont breed yourself, so its all just gas from you mate. You are showing all the symptoms of a idiot. And a bull shitter.
  14. If you have a seriously good dog in your kennel and you want to keep that, then you need to breed in and in. Yes you will get improved stock aswell. We were lucky to have a brother and sister that were equal in work and also came from exceptional parents. Do you breed yourself? Have you bred close relatives? Just wondering where you are getting your ideas from.
  15. That is sadly true. A lot like to do the talk but have never actually culled anything and prefer to sell or breed from them.
  16. A brother sister mating from which a bitch was again put back to the sire produced this dog. Like the rest of the litter he is bursting with health and vitality and hes slightly bigger than both of his parents. A lot of what you hear about inbreeding is just that, hearsay and born out of a lack of experience and knowledge. Ignorance breeds fear.
  17. They seem to be one of the species that suddenly boost in number recently, certainly in the Midlands anyway. You seem to see them in so many more places now instead of just in the woods. Ive shot more in the last 12 months than the previous 40 years I should think. Never an easy bird to get a shot at, I remember once ignoring a lovely driven Pheasant to shoot a fleeting Jay and feeling very happy to get him, but it didnt impress anyone else. Anyway they seem to come readily to the Squirrel feeders and are fair game when they do.
  18. Nice strong looking pup that mate. What are his feet like?
  19. I never thought of it like that but youre right it does.
  20. No mate, its Oakbark bridle butt, dyed grain side only. Flesh side is very smooth.
  21. well worth hiring one if stumps arnt too big, otherwise get a contractor.
