  1. What do you mean by the "biggest"?
  2. I will quote Keith Erlandson from his book "The Working Springer Spaniel" On page 18 towards the bottom " Rabbits have returned to northern areas as never before, but the terrain tends to be 'soft' heather, rushes white grass and short green bracken. many field trials are won under such conditions, which can scarcely be claimed as a test of courage. This means that at the moment we have field trial champions which will not go near a bramble" He continues on page 19 " Something has to be amiss somewhere when a Welsh rabbit trial is arranged on what is normally bracken and a bit of gorse,t
  3. The trial will be run on rabbits, therefore the grassy slope, rushes and moorland will be able to provide game for such a trial.A rabbit trial run on ground covered in brambles/furze/blackthorn would not,i suspect, provide the shooting opportunities,at the bolting rabbits, that a trial would require.I am sure once the shooting season is under way there will be trials run in cover that is "thick".
  4. Spaniel championship dvd wanted, cocker or springer, any year.Just want to have a look at the standard of the dogs.
  5. My mates dog drum was p.t.s by the vet yesterday, due to cancer, aged 9.The dog was a legend to everyone that dug to him.A lot of lads were lucky enough to go out and dig this dog but only one guy was lucky enough to have bred and owned him.The dog accounted for more game than most internet diggers can count to.I had the pleasure of digging to the dog for 7 seasons and he never put a foot wrong.R.I.P old boy
  6. No not yet mate, but if they take after the parents, there will be nothing to worry about!.Got offered a collie greyhound for one yesterday, what an idiot!!!!.As though these pups could be swapped for anything less than a collie/whippet/bull/saluki x pure pit .Deerrrrrr
  7. So what you are saying is that the guns choice "a shooters point of view" in the dogs performance is totally irrelevant and what matters is the judge(s) on the day opinion of some subtle difference in performance to make a FT award. For me the opinion of the guns should carry some weight. After all what are we trying to prove -that the best dog for shooting over has some mystical quality that the guns cannot see ? I think that is taking the P**S The only opinion that matters is the one given by the judge/judges.Thats what they are there for.
  8. The collar was with a friend of mine all last season. You can rest assured that it has been dug to more times than most of the collars will ever see in their life times .
  9. For those of you that have booked a pup here are some up to date pictures. The names of the lads that have missed out on this litter will be kept so they will be first on the list for her next litter. Pictures from camera phone so they are not the best.
  10. The music on your profile is excellent.BUT the lyrics are shit!!!!!! LOL.

  11. The other guys are right winkhound ,i bet you dont do a thing in the season with yours, another internet hunter
  12. not really that good at maths mate, but is that most of the back And front garden ?
  13. Winky loves the 6 weeks holidays but hates going back to school!! boo!

  14. cushty ! You know it makes sense ! To answer all the pm in one go- the Bitch is 18 Month and the sire is 12 Months.we decided to breed to make sure the blood is safe just in case anything happens to either of them
  15. No but may swap for a 42"lcd tv or playstation 3(with games) or collie/whippet/bull/saluki x pure pit
  16. 110%,not a chance. These are more like 167% at least. After a change in circumstances some may be available now.My mate cant have one now,he`s back at school in 3 weeks, but he can have one out of the next litter, another mate has just got another paper round to do.Another mate is buying a top stereo for his corsa. And the 2 i were keeping are the wrong shade of chocolate now .Has anyone got a really dark chocolate stud dog to line this bitch next time?
  17. With loads of puppy pictures appearing on the site i thought i would put these up now they are getting about a bit. These are a very well planned litter, pedigrees have been studied, and the whole line of dogs have had to prove themselves worthy of being bred from.Unfortuantley they have been bred for mates so none would ever be avaialable to joe public. The dam of these killed 6 rabbits in her first season, last year, and the sire once growled at 2 cats at the same time.Enjoy

Yeah thats right matey, but it bounced .Trotters independant traders cheques dont work
  19. Outdoorskid, what made you finally choose a springer over a cocker?
  20. We went for the weekend and had a great time.Yes the food and drink is expensive but i bet they pay a fortune to stand there. If you dont want to pay the prices don`t go or take your own picnic. Its that easy. The facilities were great, both on the campsite and in the showground itself, and we will deffo be going next year to Ragley hall
  21. Is that the film i have heard about where a fox is tied up with a dog lead or bale twine?.Sounds ace !!!!!!!
  22. Personally i would go for a trial bred dog.Yes they are quick but if worked for longer periods they would pace themselves accordingly.I know some keepers dogs that are rubbish, slow and noisy with a hard mouth,so "gamekeeper bred" would not hold up as much as "ftch" bred in my eyes.At least if you get succesfull trialling stock you know the dogs have done the job ie:fast(exciting to watch),silent and soft mouthed ,these things are bred in not trained in.
  23. Everyone was asking about you mate, I told them you are a misery guts and dont like anybody Its either that or you couldnt decide which boots to ware.........LOL I heard if he had attended the entire population of Llandfgthyujrlokhdhdgsfssgogoch,All 8 of them, would have had to go more than 12 hours without church. And we know that will never happen
