  2. There is someone on the whippet forum that can find out for you. Cant remember who it is though. PM pennymeadow, he will know.
  3. Cheers guys. It is perley for going out with the ogs so I dont want to spend to mutch. Max £1000. I just want something that wont get stuck too easy. Any recomendations?
  4. Well then, have you bought one yet? or are you buying one? no i havent yet but i wont rush in for the sake of it, i want to get the right dog. i might be wrong but 20 years ago it sounds like he could get hes hands on proper working stock but is he just breeding any old collie to any old greyhound now just to keep him in business ,as i say i might be completly wrong .might wait for the right litter to come along from somebody breeding for thereself as i say i fancy a three quarter bred but it needs to be out of the right stuff . good luck. At least your not desperate. You will ha
  5. Looks like you can pick these up fairly cheep. Loads of room but are they any use off road? Muddy fields etc, not serious off road. Ploughed and grass fields mainly? Any advice appreciated.
  6. I am looking to buy a decent camera. I want a decent zoom and to be able to take quick action shots. Any advice or recomendations?
  7. A few I like for dogs are Celt and Storm.
  8. Well then, have you bought one yet? or are you buying one?
  9. Every pic i've seen from Mike Brown seem to be strong and healthy dogs. I know that they are bred for work but how do the compare with racing bred dogs on the track? I assume they are bred for stamina rather than blistering pace over 150 yards?
  10. Cracking looking whippet. What does Mike Brown charge for a Puppy? How many litters does he breed?
  11. I think £350 is the average price. Mine was only £250 but it was bred by a guy who wanted to keep one back for himself rather then by a breeder.
  12. cheers bud,it was the first rabbit he has seen ,but he just seems to know what they are and what he was to do. How is his obediance training comming along?
  13. I hunt alot of small fields and have gone for a ped whippet. She will be used on rabbits and Hare next season. I believe her sire also worked fox. I have never really been into the bigger stuff but I might see if shes up to it to.

  15. Its about time we had some good news!! At last a happy ending, hate seeing dogs missing / stolen and it makes a change to hear some end up good! Chuffed for you bud
  16. I had my last lurcher spayed and it saves alot of hastle. Just make sure that you defenatly wouldn't want to breed from her. I wish that I had not had it done as I would have liked a litter out of her. Still, too late now. Don't rush into it, but if you are defenatly not breeding then go for getting her spayed.
  17. Alot of the guys up my way have lurcher to lurcher crosses. Just workers to workers with no idea whats in them and they do fairly well. Or did
  18. I'm not a big drinker and very rarely go up town unless its for a works night out. Some of the bars in Edinburgh are at £4.20 a pint. I usually take the car and they charge £2.10 for a can of Diet Coke!!!! Pathetic. Still, they're full every weekend so they will keep charging these prices. My local where I have the odd pint is £2.20 and thats a bit more reasonable. It's like smoking. If you make a packet £10 people will still smoke. If the whole country stopped smoking today the country will be stuffed. Make a pint £10 and it wont stop people binge drinking. It just ma
  19. i like the look of the collie / grey x whippet. Was it a 1/2 cross to a whippet or is there more grey than collie. How dod you find her on hare pre ban I quite like the idea of the cross and was thinking of putting a collie / grey over my whippet if she turns out to be a decent worker.
  20. what if one hound flushed a fox and one lurcher took chase and killed fox in the day out for a walk on moorland is it a stright forward case and you are guilty, two people with one dog each walking were people exercise dogs every day If you caught one fox / hare you could more than likely get away with it. If you have 3 hares on you your fecked. Once can be regarded as an accident but any more and you will be up against it most police wouldnt let you get away with it It's not upto the Police. They can only charge you. A decent lawer would piss all over a court case for one h
  21. Can the Subaru's handle a ploughed field? I read they are used on stubble but was wondering how they were on grass and ploughed fields. Would they need diferant tyers for ploughed fileds (muddy fields) Also, just incase you got stuck, is there a winch available that would fit one?
