    Got stopped by the police again, luckily we had written permission on us so everything was ok, but this is twice in 2 nights!! didn't have an amazing night but we got the pups out got them a few kills, jumping in the dark and learning them to follow the beam.. Pleased with both of them, Reggie was retrieving great for only his 2nd time out. tried to get a few snaps but i forgot i had the camera... First rabbit runs through reggie legs and Chief is in pursuit in the back of him haha Reggie retrieving, he caught this at least 150 yards from were my brother was and dropped

    They need to be fit for when i go with Tomo yer mate it was a all nighter haha didnt get through my front door until 7am, then got woke up at 10 am and sorted the dogs out and took the pic.. and i am off out tonight with 2 pups out of Don so i will keep yas posted on how they do

    to be honest lads we found a very good field which we took 19 out of, pure luck. but that set the ball rolling and we kept going, the dogs seemed endless TBH

    Had a decent night with my mate last night, even though we got stopped by police on the way, they were calling us badger baiter's & thieves the fcking cheek of it haha so we had to blag our way outta that one, so that set us back an hour.. We ran on some steep hills then went to the flatter fields with short grass ( like a bowling green) so we tested the dogs on 2 kinda terrains.. We ended the night on 64 so even with the set back we still managed a cracking score here is a pic of the terrain, as you can see the wall in the beam showing how steep the hills were END SCO

    Romany ( i think) made an interesting point a while ago, he mentioned that he kept tallys of game run and game caught for himself and for all those he had been out with. He said that often, when asked at a later date (years maybe), the dogs owners were often way way out in what they remembered their dogs catching, adding many to the bag. And there is nothing wrong with keeping a count for your own sake. I write down the numbers of rabbits ferreted on every trip, a long with where it was etc, so that i can accuratly tell the land owner and so that i can keep track myself of what land he

    if you don't keep numbers folk defiantly exaggerate on what they have caught.. whether its a few hundred more rabbits or a dozen more foxes!

    if there not a test then why aren't big numbers took from golf courses?? some of the land that we run (not the dales) is hard running for a dog, i think a few lads of here have been on the same place and will no what i am talking about. I am taking a lad on there tonight to see if his dog can handle the ground and catch the rabbits BUT i am 99% sure he will come on here tomorrow and tell you how hard the rabbits are.. I was lamping on them winter wheat fields twice last week and they ran like leverets but Don & Swift made them look no different!! rabbits maybe aren't a test f

    if there not a test then why aren't big numbers took from golf courses?? some of the land that we run (not the dales) is hard running for a dog, i think a few lads of here have been on the same place and will no what i am talking about. I am taking a lad on there tonight to see if his dog can handle the ground and catch the rabbits BUT i am 99% sure he will come on here tomorrow and tell you how hard the rabbits are..     aye will do if you want.the bitch is a little rocket didnt miss much at all only reason duke got more was i split from them and went on my own so they seen about the same but between 2 dogs.i havent got a pic of it will get one next time i see him good going then, can't knock your dog mate, plenty stamina, he looks class in the pic a few of the pups out of the litter are doing well now, be even better next season mate!!     Do you honestly believe that a Lurcher, (or any breed of dog, for that matter), can show that degree of intelligence.... Remembering the lay of the land, where the quarry will be and where it will run to ???? I despair at some of the things that are said on this site at times ! Cheers. i have to agree with CP, even if a dog new the lay of the land, it still has to get behind a rabbit to catch it. it wont sit and wait for the rabbit to run to the same place as the others did. or not??

    the golf course near us has hares & rabbits on it, both very hard to catch.. the rabbits are like leverts on there.. But i did get a retrieve the other day on a long ears with my bitch Swift....
