  1. he was in my kennels for 13 years, grand sire to both my dogs i own
  2. roughly 5/8 collie. he will be back out over the weekend for another shift
  3. all i can say is that there is a few folk on here who could vouch on how harsh the terrain is.. if your dog could hack a full night shift running rabbits up & down steep slopes, then you would have a decent night
  4. awesome night, i wish i could have made it but had to be up for work at 630am...
  5. what i have found if there is a squatter down the end of the beam and you send a pup down even from 20 yards the pup would go into the darkness and probably stand there wondering what the hell to do.. i have even seen myself walk up to rabbits clapped right down and unless i give them a kick up the arse the pup won't have a clue what i'm trying to send them on!
  6. if i can get close i will walk up to them and usually make them get up so the pup spots them easier, i prefer them to get up and run so the pup learns to look down the beam..
  7. too right Frankel.. I love going on my own with the dog and ferts.. i always av a couple of nets and just net up the easy holes and leave the rest to chance..LOL..they always bolt from the one with no net on anyway..thats a fact...LOL 100% fact!!
  8. make sure you get them sorted fella! im off out soon on some new permission to bolt some rabbits for the dogs so that will be good craic
  9. good honest post Vin, i am going onto some new permission today about 50 mile from home... taking a ferret, a locator, terrier for marking, and lurcher.. i am showing a face and getting the lay of the land but i will have a mooch and probably bolt a few bunnys i can't guarantee a rabbit though as i ain't taking any nets haha its a bit of sport though and a day out EDITED TO ADD: can't beat a day out bolting rabbits for the dogs, great bit of fun!!
  10. that is him at his peak Vin.. 100% fit and wormed out and on best of feed... I have to admit though he is still a ugly fecker if you look at the pic where he is by the bushes, the on where his leg comes up. Well when he does this wether it is marking a hole or a bush 100% there is something in.. Wierd little fact about the dog haha He is the double of an old mates dog from the 80s.. same stamp and build..one of the cleverist dogs i have ever seen work.. my little bitch does the same when marking up,and then she stands there sort of dribbling from the mouth and waggling her bott

  12. I went out at first light this morning for a couple hours, done a bit of mooching. :Dw .My favourite kind of mornings and the dogs love it, The terrier was flying this morning putting rabbits and pheasants out of cover, i took some pics but couldn't get many of him as i barely seen him haha First Light Steady Swift He must have stood off this gate a good 15 foot Something in here, ended up being a pheasant!! Rabbit went to ground Swift Don Tank, he looks a bit over weight but its his build.. its actually a perfect weight for him..
