  1. Ferreting without a locator is like lamping without a lamp
  2. That's upto you mate but I'll never believe a locator is a 'must'. How are you going to dig through rocks, under concrete, rubbish tips/ piles..... Your not. its handy to have one But not a necessity. Yawwnnnn zzzzzzzzz
  3. No offence I'm just saying that your post is aimed at people who don't use locators, 'Im telling you'........ It's upto individuals if they use one or not. I've said it all before on another thread- I couldn't give a monkeys about if I Come away with 1 rabbit or 100. People ferret for different reasons and you 'telling them' that they will come unstuck doesn't go down well. remember to Put the batteries in your collar before you tell us We wish we had a locator because a locator with no batteries is like having no locator at all.

  5. It's upto individual people whether to use a locator or not. I've got a locator but my collar is fcuked, been out atleast 15 times without and had no problems. Waiting to get a new collar after Xmas. Some land can't be dug, your locator and collar would be worth £0 in these situations. Each to their own and years ago when there was 10x more rabbits on the ground locators, collars and fancy bits of kit weren't about, they managed fine and I bet they had more bags than you get with your locator. Seems like you've put this post up directed at certain people that don't use one, all I can s

  8. In all honesty mate, they look like they start to Crumble after a year or a hard winter. Mass Produced are flimsy and made of cheap Grade wood. Just go and buy some wood and make one yourself. Cost the same if not cheaper and you Can make it exactly how you want it and you know the quality. I've got one a mate made, triple hutch made out of 2 by 2 length and decking slats. It's been through the wars lately sty the weather and still looks brand new. Even dropped it out the back of the removal truck and it didn't shift. These pre-made hutches would have smashed

  17. Read in a book 2 guys walking, dog behind a few yards and the guy infront holding a rag. As the dog pulls on the lead to try and catch the guy with the rag it's using it's back legs like a muscle workout in the gym.

  20. Decided last night to get out this morning and get some more ferreting done. Rang a mate and sorted it for 9.15am. Arriving at his we debated if it was worth going with the rain imminent and the wind blowing a gale. We was ready with our kit, ferrets knew that soon they would be let loose and earn their keep and I wanted some more skins for the dummy to train the pup...... Decided to give it A go. Got to the woods and selected our burrows for working helped by the clear digging indication. Nets on and put the ferrets to ground. Waited. Waited and then I heard the squeal of the rabbit not
