  1. ah, now what you've got there is your classic alien abuduction remains!
  2. just a little one, and you can all shout at me for being pedantic, but female ferrets are jills and they have kits. female dogs are bitches, and they have pups.
  3. nice looking bitch! spitting image of my dad's collieXgrey-with-a-hint-of-saluki dog. i'll try to get a pic of him tomorrow.
  4. when i was a kid i loved the dogs & ferrets, but dad always took my little brother out shooting & stuff, not me. i only went out with dad & the dogs twice. i always got left at home with mum to do cooking & girly shit that i hated. i used to nick my dads old catapult & sit out on our meadow shooting pigeons on my own. i think that's why i went anti! my parents never encouraged me in anything i did, if i did something i was really proud of they wouldn't even acknowledge it, so i just gave up on stuff or kept really quiet about it. when i was 8 i could take a pigeon out of th
  5. i've got my insurance through the co-operative. if you're a young driver they have a set level of compulsory excess, and to get your premium down you can select a voluntary excess - the higher the voluntary excess, the lower your quote. just don't hit anyone who'll want to claim on your insurance! trolley parks & trees are pretty safe, i've not had one claim yet. co-ops no-claims discount aint too shabby either, i got 35% discount after my first year with them. and i found that i could insure a 2.5 diesel lwb transit with them for 70 quid cheaper than my car! a friend of mine said elepha
  6. i hope he's not planning on cooking that one!
  7. Kay, if your cat is used to dogs, that's half the battle won! the problem i had with Gyp & my original bunch of cats was that they'd never seen a dog before & were terrified, wouldn't put him in his place. he was absolutely fine with my kitten, and when she grew up & had kittens, fine with them too. it's taken me a while to break him to mums feral cats, but he only goes near them once or twice a day, so it's been a long process, but now he doesn't even look at them. if your cat has somewhere safe to run to & hide if the dog gets a bit much, he'll break to it in no time. keep hi
  8. twats! but here's a french kid showing us how it should be done...
  9. one mainly lives on beef mince, the other won't touch it since he got an abcess in his throat, he pretty much lives on lambs hearts, fussy little fecker! he won't eat anything that isn't drenched in blood! when my bro has been shooting they both get bits of pheasant/hare/rabbit/pigeon, plus an egg every once in a while. the non-fussy one is rather partial to a bit of cooked broccoli. my old girl liked a bottle top or two of lager or ale occasionally. she was a bit of an alkie, when i kept her in my caravan she got pretty pissed one night - she dragged a quarter-full stella stubby under my bed,
  10. my two remaining hobs aren't too big, but a friend of mine has a giant ferret by the name of Denzil. he really is a monster! i thought my mate was joking when he said he had a ferret that his kids couldn't pick up, and it takes 2 hands to go round his ribs!
  11. i got a bit aneamic a while back (not eating me broccoli!), and popped into the local healthfood shop. i can't take multivitamins because they always make me really ill, so the bird in there suggested iron tablets with blackstrap mollasses. she said they don't give you the runs like some plain iron tablets can. so maybe having a spoonful in your tea will cure that little problem you've had since your first glass of Irish water?
  12. i used to live in a manky old caravan in my parents back garden. where we live, big cat sightings are pretty common, lots of large areas of fields with little woods & pits, and no big roads inbetween. i've seen a big cat of some type stood on the side of the road about 2 miles from the house. one night i was in the caravan, in bed, with the lad i was dating at the time. must have been about 1am. just drifting off to sleep, we heard this weird, low snarling sound outside. the dogs kenneled up 20 feet away were completely silent, and it definitely wasn't a dog noise. we had (and still have)
  13. i wouldn't, you'd just be proving teacher right. i always found an irate parent is a damn fine deterant for this kind of shit from teachers. witnesses help too.
  14. just for you, BlueCoyote!
  15. Gyp used to frighten the piss out of me in the house, never mind when we were out! my old place had a big glass sliding door which opened onto the garden. sometimes when i was on the comp after midnight Gyp would stand at the door, hackles up, growling, then barking, then he'd run to the window next to the comp, bark there, then back to the door. i lived on my own, next to a railway line, and the outside light was f*cked so i couldn't turn it on to see what was outside! it was probably just a munty in the garden, but i didn't fancy going to look, and bugger letting the dog out & being in t
  16. wow, shit, didn't think my boy would cause so much debate! like i said, can't be 100% on his breeding, but a good friend of mine, who has kept & bred lurchers for the last 30-odd years, insists Gyp is a first cross, just a rather unusual one, and his previous owners said first cross. IMO he's far too bright & tractable to be any more than 1/2 saluki, but that's just my opinion! how old are those 2 dogs ossie? bitch is 9, black with brindle legs, jacks grandaughter. the dog is her nephew, jacks great grandson, and is about 6 i think. big black hairy thing, he's got more collie
  17. regularly used to take himself off hunting and come back with a hare. he could jump a five bar gate & make it look completely effortless, so he was a bugger to keep in. dad used to go out looking for him, but in the end he gave up & just left the kennel open, sat down & had a cup of tea til Jack came back!
  18. Norwegian Blue, hahaha! i spotted that too Ditch, but i thought i'd let you have that one! it was the Beautiful Plummage that i noticed first...
  19. thanks! i didn't have much to do with the condition of that one, all down to my dad. we didn't have that many litters out of him. he got to my mums beddy/whippet x greyhound, resulting in a litter of deerhound lookalikes. we kept one back but she died of lepto when she was 3. we were loaned a greyhound to breed him with, got a big litter (14 surviving pups), kept the 2 best & the rest went back to the bitches owner (a well known local dog & horse dealer), and went as betting dogs. i have no idea who had any of them. we still have a dog & a bitch from his bloodline, the bit
  20. just found these pics of my first dog, 29 1/2" sal x grey by the name of Black Jack Davy. definitely a first cross, bred by my dads best mate, and given to my dad as a present for me to keep me occupied while everyone was fussing over my newborn brother.
  21. i got him at 7 months old, his previous owners got him from travellers in wisbech as a pup, and they were told he's a first cross. i've asked a few people for opinions on his breeding, and the general consensus is first cross, coursing greyhound x saluki. i think he's too heavily built to be any more than 1/2 saluki. he puts on muscle better than any other saluki x i've ever seen, and is pretty damned clever too. was a fecker as a pup, but in the last few months has come on leaps & bounds, actually does what i tell him, as long as it doesn't involve getting his arse wet! he's just a bit of
  22. BBC news report good fecking god! hope the fecker goes to prison!
  23. first time i wore them they were a bit weird to walk in, mind. very bouncy!
  24. they obviously didn't like the comment i left them, because they've deleted it!
