I was talking to a lad yesterday, 23, has a boy aged 3. The lad has lived his whole life within half a mile of the sea. He's never seen a rock pool, doesn't know what a hermet crab was, never fished, never looked under sea weed. Has never really walked in the countryside, never seen frog spawn, etc. now fair enough, I know his dad and he's a pub 7 days a week guy. This lad seems to be not much different. It got me thinking..... What kind of start to life is the lads boy going to have? I couldn't imagine growing up without living most of my youth in the countryside. Jumping burns, collecti

Sorry mate, I thought you were talking to haymin. Just a rock, anything on the shore or river side really. You can't use it on the kayak or use a BBQ for that matter. It would burn right through, big melted bits of plastic dripping on me but I get what your saying, if you had a stand you would get away with it to be honest mate, the waters usually that rough, we don't even risk rolling a joint, they are all pre rolled

Good thread this, very informative, learned loads. I'm like gnash, got a catapult (black widow) last summer and can't hit nowt. I too thought f**k this but in all honesty I never gave it a chance. I'll need to but bearings and get cracking with it. Without high jacking gnashers thread too much lol, I used to make walking sticks in a previous life or so it seems it was that long ago. But I have a few thumb stick blanks that I think I could make into a catapult. I'll need to dig them out so don't know what wood they are. Does it matter, will they be strong enough? Also I'm a bit of a perfection

You have just got to laugh at them. Half the time they are walking over weight dogs.
