  1. Friend of mine has no tv and no tv license. He watches everything over the Internet ie BBCi player, 4OD etc. No receiver needed so no license needed either! If he can't view it on the Internet he doesn't miss it 'cos he didn't know it was on in the first place.
  2. If you've got 8 beds for growing veg could you not use one for chickens and incorporate them into your crop rotation?
  3. I'd get permission to build a permenant hide or even just a low panel fence at 90° to the embankment fence. The rabbits would get used to it being there and you would be able to approach them unseen. Then just peep over the top or around the side and pop 'em.
  4. Is anyone here a member of SE Airgun Club?
  5. All though dawn hunting is spiritually rewarding (you know what I mean), dusk shooting is more practical. I can put my son to bed, have dinner and then leave my wife watching Snog, Marry, Avoid! Everybody's happy!
  6. Think it was about 6 but that seemed to be a little to late and now the sun's coming up earlier and earlier you'd have to be getting up silly early.
  7. Mine was £650 with scope and bag from a gun shop. Awesome gun. Have had a little problem with it but the shop is seeing me right.
  8. I've been trying to trap this wiley rodent for nearly 2 months. It's been living under a shed and feeding on the dropped food under the bird feeder. Perseverance paid off.
  9. Oh yeah love this show, never miss it. We'll never see a show about deer culling in th uk, everything has to be done on the quiet so as not to upset the ignorant majority.
  10. I'm having a day like that right now!
  11. @ftm, they do look pretty but they're noisy as hell and they compete with our native birds for food. @Duncan, cheers for the advise, i'll take that on board. @77Si, they've given me an HW100 Sport. It's a carbine with shrouded barrel and thumbhole stock. It's nice and it has a better scope than mine.............damn it!
  12. I've watched them all and from what has been shown I'm amazed that the "stars" are a: able to make a living, and b: still alive! Good show though, I enjoyed watching it. My new favourite shows are Moonshiners and American Guns, both on Discovery.
  13. They might not have a spare back issue to send you but they might have one and they could photocopy or scan the article you're looking for. You have nothing to lose by asking.

  15. I bought myself a second hand Weihrauch HW100 last week. A beautiful gun, whisper quiet and, once I'd zeroed it in, deadly accurate. After nearly a week of plinking targets I got up early to try and catch the rabbits before they went to bed. There were several about but they all saw me well before I got into range. There weren't any squirrels about either. They seem to be late risers around here. There were plenty of birds around though and as I was walking up a woodland track a magpie foolishly landed in the tree underwhich I was standing. It was quite high up and I had to aim up at a sh

  17. But which sport? Sumo wrestling is a sport as is darts.
  18. My sentiments exactly Secretagentmole. Nice light gun with accurate grouping but can't be doing with the cocking system. It's to fiddly and there's to much to think about especially in the heat of the moment.
  19. Hi mate, I'm in exactly the same position as you! I spent all winter picking up on the local shoot and now want to do some air rifle hunting. What I plan on doing is approaching the gamekeeper who I picked up for and ask if he'd mind if I sat out near his pheasant feeders and shoot the squirrels.
