  1. i didnt realise rspca could just come and take your dogs on a first visit to your house ..we had to report someone for cruelty to a horse we sold to them and took ages and lots of visits before they took action in a real cruelty case..seems they just make their own rules!
  2. my ex hated dogs ..hes gone but dogs still here ..when left ireland with all i could take with me i made my bro drive me over in a van so could take dogs wasnt leaving them..now started chemo and docs and leaflets telling me dogs could be cause of an an infection for me and not to touch them..but they are staying can get more germs handling money i reckon.

  12. when i lived in ireland the vets always gave me milbemax ..over here they seem to favour drontal..i just get a generic version online...as for threads original question ..if you know your dogs still got worms maybe your not getting them all in their cycle ..ive had new dogs with worms and worm them then do them again in 2 weeks or so to catch any eggs that may have hatched to new worms that may have been left behind.

  14. you get so many different days windy days when scent dont stick days when they stay on in cover then loose it when out..its worth all those days when you get a great day and they stay on and work it well and the sound ..some people hunted (pre ban) to see foxes etc or for how many can kill but for me its always been watchin the hounds work a scent ..facinates me and great adrenaline rush on good day..really enjoying this thread and hope to learn few things

  19. are you saying when vixens are cubbing they give less scent if so i then i think thats very interesting another survival instinct of old charlie boy/ girl.great thread by the way ive definatly heard that before that vixens dont lay a scent when they are in cub..dont know if is true but most of the old time hunters believed and said it as i was growing up and it does make sense.
  20. or due to a mixture of scents did they carry on following the deer? yeah most of pack did and really strong cry ...was really hard to get them off...bout 20 mins later i saw the fox coming back out of cover it went to and down field it came from ..lol.clever bugger it was.
  21. love this topic..its really interesting..i dont think we will ever understand scent in the same way as a hound does..i rember reading in a book once that a dog can still smell a human scent on a piece of grass days later..its really interesting. I saw a pack split once they were hunting a fox from a cover went few fielddlengths into another cover and i was stood in the field and saw 3 deer emerge with the fox running same line then the fox split and ran up the side of field to make a get away ..he used the deer as cover and most of ppack followed them. Is that because the deer have a stronger
