Thanks for appreciating the efforts, it did end up rather rough, i won't take the little uns unless forced to as the damage is already done can't see as it matters now but they'll be their in a few weeks time and ready for the pot, got to do some crop protection on cabbages early next week with shotties if weather allows, don't mind wind for that but rain's crap: Dave

What a disappointment, i started the Vid in my back yard this morning at 0500, then shot off to pick up Alan W, Alan B couldn't make it as he was in Scunthorpe for the weekend. I got to AW at 0530, then in the entrance to the field by 0540, walking down the path we saw several Rabbits on the path but couldn't take a shot as the guns were in their slips. we were also carrying other bits and bats, due to not being able to get the 4x4 down to the field. the gate was locked. we got to the edge of the field wear we parked the vehicle on Wednesday evening and two Rabbits were sat their, but they wer

Like the Disco Shey, i had one a few years back, loved it, had a few different 4x4s over the years, got an estate for general use, and now have a S reg Honda CRV 2ltr for my shooting now, runs a dream: Dave

As Niel82 as said, this happened to my mate a few months back, can happen when you don't raise the bolt vertically enough can sheer off the pin: Dave -
Just my two penneth, I have both calibers used for hunting, with .22 there's a lot of adjustment needed if you shoot longer than your zero range, if you have a mildot scope you have to know your adjustment for different ranges. with .177 less of a factor unless say your zeroed at 20 yards and are shooting at 40 yards then the same factors apply, you have to know what you and your gun are capable of, and accuracy plays the largest part in any hunting trip, without this and your own skill with the gun you might as well throw rocks: Dave

Don't be put off by ordering from China, I've had everything from Batteries to Scopes all good quality and no problems, 4 weeks ago i ordered some rechargeable batteries and a charger, the Charger was faulty i E-mailed the seller and they made an instant refund. they are a proud people and don't like bad press so to speak: Dave

Two 3 hour shooting sessions with Si, Davy and Charlie

I seriously can't understand how a minority of do gooders can have a good entertaining Video to the like minded hunters recategorized because they are offended, don't watch it thats what i say it was plain as the nose on your face that the Video footage would show Vermin being killed, why don't they get on with there sad little lives and leave well alone: Dave -
Shay, if its any reference in this post i have made to make you feel as though you need to leave the site i am truly sorry, i have the utmost respect for you and the rest of verminhunters. I feel that you have a lot to give to nubie shooters, we all learn from each other that is a fact of life, i have never advocated that anyone should take on long shots but i had everything in my favor, no wind a fully visible target with no obstructions, i had the confidence and accuracy to take the shot. my normal target range would be 35-40 yards under less favorable conditions i would be like you and ref

The weather is breaking around 01.00 around the Castleford area so we are out in the morning 04.30, i will be off with Alan W as ALAN B is in Scunthorpe for the weekend, Got the Camera sorted so some Video footage coming up Hopefully unless the forecasts totally wrong, will let you all know how we got on; Dave
-
The weather is supposed to be better on Monday, if so we're off back for an early morning session, and hopefully I'll have the camera mounted on the Scorpion by then so will do a Video. If the Rabbits are out in the same numbers as wed night we should do well, i want the others to take the Air Rifles not the shotties, we'll keep them out longer instead of scattering them all over the place, fingers crossed: Dave

It wasn't easy at first attaining all the acreage, i have, had 250 acres permission behind my house straight out of my back gate, this as been handed to me through the family since i was 12 yo, i went to school with the present farmer we were friends at school. then 18 months ago after being knocked back over the years on a particular permission 2 miles away, the son now runs the farm and when asking him 18 months back he gave it me straight away 1000 acres. have not looked back since purely through name dropping the farms that i shoot on, and it just keep coming, this happens once you get sta

When you find a pellet that suits your gun take note of the batch No as they can vary from batch to batch, go back to the shop and buy as many tins as you can afford straight away. have you checked for clipping of the silencer as it had a knock: Dave
-
You have as already been said to be polite at all times, always use your insurance ID as your introduction, Learn everything you can about the quarry you intend to ask permission for, but don't bore him to death. if the Farm as sheep on, and plenty of Rabbits inform him that 8 Rabbits will eat in one day the equivalent of one sheep, so he should soon get the idea that you'll be doing him a favor, and don't be pushy: Dave
