Anyone got a good recipe? Just picked up a great jar of it from M&S (Chrimbo vouchers!) but love it so much I know I ought to get on and make some- so any suggestions?

john b ive just read u can add almond essence to your sloe gin have u tried it and if so what u think of it phill You can do it, but found very little differance between with or without almonds essance, The almond essence flavour comes out well enough in our version but i think it is because we leave our gin of the slow for a good couple of months. May be teaching granny how to suck eggs, BUT rather than spend hours pricking the fruit, try freezing the fruit for a week then put sloes frozen into bottle. Skins split lovely and let the flavour Flood out - just like PG!!! also try

ex layers can usually be picked up for £1 each great layers for a couple of years, MOST important as someone else said is the layers pellets though! mine have only just slowed down in laying almost 11 months of laying egg a day! as for table birds Ross cobs are ment to be great, once we get a bit of land again i plan to get a couple of dozen in well worth it. In my experiance try and stear clear of the poultry auctions, We got stung several years back, - bought a couple of birds from an auction seemed fine and after a week put them in with the flock, all our other birds had been fine

Never got ill by growning spuds from old shot spuds, parents used to let me have the shot ones to grow and 'produce' my own stuff! Only thing i will say though is its best to grow spuds IMO in sealed tubs/bags, reduces risk of wire worm and the like destroying your crop. One thing to bear in mind though is are you growing spuds just for the fun/ something differant to do or to supply you home with all the spuds you need? I try to work on something I saw on one of HFW programs, try and grow stuff that you either really enjoy and that you can produce enough of to stop you having to buy i

Dont bother KAY, I tried that last year and all I got from people was 'Whats matter with you?' ' Your a bit quiet aint you??' You cant win! My new years res though will have to be to try and be positive, Not the usual quote of 'Never say things can only get better!'

At the risk of getting a load of abuse Hancock usually has some pups fairly regular! Ok so like i said there will no doubt follow a string of dog breader abuse from someone, but can only speak as i have found, dogs are clean and healthy have two know of a load more, and they are great WORKING dogs!!! The only thing I will say is get one of his, from him, not after somone else has been messing with it!

I havent got a telly! great source of entertainment! Plus the odd bit of useful info, Oh and found a few good female friends, who are as bizare as me!

got to agree with the hubby, weve just finished our christmas chicken made giblet gravy and there is nothing like it What Mt didnt say was to chuck some onions, bay leaves, tyme parsley and carrots in with it to give it a bit more depth. boil it down for a couple of hours to reduce and allow to cool. remove any excess fat from the top then freeze into portions. You can use the liver in a proper force meat stuffing. Other than that spoil the ferrets as sugessted!

Great watching him open them all! Had to work this morning usually I will come home and make him a cuppa, but for some strange reason he was already up and awake! Yes he has been a very very good boy this year! he deserves it all ! BUT if he was good I dont think I can guess what I was! SPoilt rotten, New socks (very much needed) very nice Undies (no there are no photos available before anyone suggests) slippers and a fishing session. But most of all the best pressie by far was yet another year with him!

Thanks everyone Buzzing aint the word for it! Still got a cheesy grin on my face, cant wait to show a few of the guys at the local shoot tomorrow. Also cant wait to get a bit of it onto the plate for tea!

Just had to put this one on! I was lucky enough to get the chance to try my hand at salmon fishing this week! MT did a mole job for a friend of a friend, bit awkward when it came to price - so swap was arranged to fish his bit of water. Not MTs thing but as I have done a little bit of fly fishing offer was passed to me. Went out on monday for a couple of hours without any luck, but wonderful time walking riverbank, anyway aparently with a good tide yesterday and a few more inches of water in the river Today was set to be a good day. fished a few areas but nothing. Having never fished with

Dawn I am sure that there are going to be some people gratefull for this information but surely the easiest way to protect yourself is to not take photos of illegal acts in the first place?

Were the rabbits caught in an area with a lot of gorse on it? MT had similar occurance a couple of years back looked strange but tasted fine. appeared that the rabbits were stripping the bark on the gorse due to a lack of other food.

personally I love holly, Had a wonderful twisted holly for beating for a few years, first drive this year and it snapped though spotted another lovely straight stick on the next week, just got too strip it now. I found sheeps horn once and had the same experiance as you with it coming away in a shell, lovely to polish up though.

D for me, when wet and muddy you dont have to take the extra effort to keep hand on spade, may slide a bit but easier imho.

As far as I was always led to believe cats claws are retracted until the point of jumping/ pouncing, but having no real interest in cats I may be wrong. along this area this would have been the easiest way through as everything else is fenced, gate not always closed so may have been using route before when gate open? Happy to have any suggestion as i said before

All the best hope you get your dog back. I hate b****** like that, must admit to being what I thought was parinoid because i would never leave my dogs outside of shop. If I cant take it in then I dont shop! Most of our local shops know me and let dogs in, even at the pastie shop one of the girls will clock me at the door and mark me in the queue, as soon as my turn comes with me still outside the shop she catches my eye and serves me. Think sometimes we forgett just how presious our dogs are, look on them as 10 week old babies - would we leave them unattended outside a pub/shop for

down here in cornwall I have seen very large pug marks with no claw marks visiable in soft mud, going towards a 5 bar gate last marks just before gate claw marks were visible. then marks over other side of gate as if it was jumped. happy for someone to come up with an explanation other than big cat, would make me feel a whole lot safer. Down here the one that have seen a big cat keep it quiet as there are plenty of people around who want to take a shot at it - even if it ment them losing their liscense over it for non target species.

couple of years back I had one of my annual upgrades, but being a skin flint put new phone in old phone case that didnt fit quite tight enough, Within the first week I was using it on the farm where I was milking flipped it closed just above the slurry slats - You guessed it down it went MT then spent rest of milking trying to call me from other end of the parlour whilst waving and laughing at me! apparently it was still ringing! Replaced it with a cheapy from ebay after buying new sim with my old number on it only to put that phone in the top pocket of my overalls without zipping pocket

[ Try lea and perins sundried tomatoe version of worcester sauce, nice change with cheese on toast. Best munchies are Barnecutts Pasties! and if you are still peckish after that follow it up with one of their chelsea buns Other than that Anything I can find in the house worth eating! ! Kinda partial to homemade quiche, but only one trouble is that I dont get round to making it often enough!

Very similar to an uncooked bread pudding really then? Think I prefer the cooked version with nutmeg eggs and sugar involved! differant though!

Ok so vets are expensive, some of them more than others and yes some of them are rip offs, Generally down here in cornwall they are more agricultural based and have the honesty to tell you if they dont have a clue. Yes do get charged a consultation fee of £20 but no differant to call out charge by other labourers. However the one thing no one has mentioned Is insurance. We have two lurchers and insure them against vets bill and thrown in are a few other not so plesant and hopefully unecassary extras (death cremation cost, replacement after theft, third party libility) SO far we have

Think this deserves a BUMP! cant get over how devious some people can be
