  1. http://dangerousdogs...bility-for.html All of it scary imo, but these 2 are the worst.... This is a change to the current Dangerous Dogs Act which does not cover private property where a dog is allowed to be. Definitions of reasonable cause are given in the next section. Section 2 (1) © could lead to thousands of dogs having to be destroyed as they cannot legally be kept following an incident however the amendments suggest the wording should be changed to deal with this problem. Protected animal may include any animal other than rats or rabbit on permissioned
  2. I am guessing, and it is only a guess, that if your dog is on your property and cannot attack anyone else, then it can snarl and bark all it wants because, it "isn't out of control". The fact that it cant get to anybody else, means it's under control. They are trying to amend the law so it does include private property. But what about outside your property. We have all had dogs who will suddenly take a dislike to someone strange (wearing a hat) or something else. Normally sound dogs. I don't know, yes i agree if it helps stop horrific child attacks, and chavs with time bombs on lea
  3. And how will they define dangerous or out of control? This is what scares me the most, who are the so called experts are who make these decisions. A dog barking, snarling, guarding it's owner/property...will that be included?
  4. I mentioned this in the minshaw thread, my bitch does exactly the same. If the cattle get too close for comfort she snaps at their faces, darting in and out the herd. Gets a bit worked up over it but I can call her off. I wouldn't say she can work cattle but she's not affraid to stand her ground and mix it with em when things get a bit heated. As long as they stay away she is happy to mind her own business but if they don't they will be driven off pretty fast. It's all bullocks round our way and they are nosey boistrous buggers. Great picks molly, It's really nice to have a dog like that.
  5. Never known a slug problem as big as this ever. I am finding them in my chicken runs for the first time and they are not damp. And some of the walls of the cottage are glimmering silver. The are coming inside the cottage in my cupboards and everywhere. What i have found to kill them brilliantly, although i'm not sure if it will act as a deterrent is Vircon. In your kennels they will be after the dogs food dishes, remove the dishes after feeding
  6. God no, just treat it myself, as i would for any dog bite Having said that, she doesn't grab on, as soon as the cattle retreat so does she. She really is a bright little dog, doesn't do it to kill/worry, does it to make them back off
  7. So what was the point of the thread
  8. You must have the patience of a saint, and fingers like steel rods

  10. Hang on here a mo LT, no need to get arsey, no-one else is. Firstly your writing style is hard for me to decipher but from what i gathered initially, your post was regarding rape, your dog accidentally ran into it, so you were going to avoid it. Then you go on to say you have/want to run it. Then you went on about but how on earth were you going to keep your dog fit all SEASON if you don't run on rape....hence my reply it is only August, the rape will be gone soon enough. Make your bleedin mind up, either you want a discussion about running dogs in rape or you dont? Remember no-one actua
  11. Eggs have disappeared. After a few weeks sitting on them?
  12. No, not really I have a home for the pair, but they decided to breed, and i wanted to let them have that opportunity once they started. Once the young are fledged (If they hatch, she seems a bit rubbish as a broodie) they are all leaving home. Might keep a youngster for in the house
  13. Met a £41,000 greyhound recently
  14. Waiting a few more weeks will not bother the dog. Why risk the future working life of your dog just because YOU couldn't wait
  15. BRILLIANT info, thank you very much
  16. Honest to god Paul, it never occurred to me there would be such nastiness, i thought people would just see it for what it was. I though that the little explanation the dog was ok if the cattle were ok would let people know she was in control People are just too quick to dive in instead of sitting back and listening sometimes
