I'd have one purely because its a healthy,fit mastiff.But could someone answer what they do better than a big bull x? I'm genuinely interested,I've never even seen one let alone seen one work. Ferreting..... I bet they can put some food away too lol Not kidding....my bitch eats about 4lbs of meat a day + mixer etc and the red dog 2.5 + mixer etc..... Thinking o getting whippets....... they're greedy wee feckers as well mate lol Gerbils then.......?????

On this note Penny; if you were bringing a young pup into a home where there is already an older dog (a steady bitch) would you be inclined to kennel them together for the first weeks/months to help bring the pup on? Or kennel them side by side and just give them a few hours a day together? I'd never ever kennel a pup and an adult together....blueprint for a disaster there....

I've had 5 dogs if you were referring to me? 1 I've got and will always have 2 died - both would be here now 1 stolen - would be here now 1 rehomed for the dogs best interests Hardly having a load of dogs. Sorry if the comment wasn't to me. Aye but that's only in the last fortnight......

You come on here asking advice for a 'non-problem' in my eyes and you get some decent advice amongst some jokey/straight to the point replies - which is par for the course on here - and then you start slagging folk off.... Cut its grub down....and exercise it more...probably best not to have let it get 9lbs overweight in the first place... Takes time though...or you could try getting it a gym membership.... I once had a Border terrier bitch transported here from Ireland....it was the most grossly obese dog I have ever seen....transporter lad said he'd never seen anything like it and neither had I...weighed nearly 40 lbs and was like a fecking ball...seen feck all exercise for months and its nails were curled back towards the pads...total disgrace....it took 6 months to get it down to 18 lbs...slow build u
