Alot stems from the "Non competitive" sports crap at school. A friend at work's young girl had her sports day last week, everyone taking part won a prize. Whats that FFS. I used to hate coming second or last but it made me try harder. Perhaps if competitivness was to be encouraged a little more, we would have more top class sports people.

We have to do a First aid course at work every 3 years. One trainer who was a young girl had never given CPR. An older guy trainer had, twice, both without success and he said it's very rare for CPR to work. You need to be there as soon as someone collapses for it to help. There is also something called "Duty of Care" in regard with helping a member of the public. If you have First aid skills, you should not be held responsable for the person dying if you try to help them and don't succeed. I think the old "Where there's blame there's a claim" syndrome stops a lot of people helping so -

Gave my Mum CPR, Unsuccessfully i'm afraid. Not something i ever want to have to do again. -
Don't know about the Forestry, but the lads who do our tree cutting aren't on a great wage. Around 15k i was told. They don't half work for it too.

Those Oil stains on the road from the Bike ?? Gotta be, it's a Triumph. By brother had a couple (Bonny and a Trident) and he never managed to stop the things leaking.
