Not if I am judging or organising the show Working dog show means what it says Shows may be just beauty competitions, but IMO a few scars do not detract from a dog's beauty: if its lame though, its feet are smashed or its carrying an injury which would affect it in the field, then that's a different matter. You sound like our type of judge what you doing on the 19th August :welcomeani:

Dont let me put you off giving the dog a chance but just make sure of the following before you let it off the lead He will come back to you He is broken to not only ferrets but stock ie sheep and cattle Bear in mind Track greyhounds have been trained to chase anything from a bit of bag to old wooly hat Good luck and good hunting let us know how you get on

She has the makings of a nice dog dont rush her especially if you have another dog ,squater on the lamp can explode into a lung busting gallop within seconds ,you sound as if you know what you are up to what is three months or four months more, when at the end of it you will have a fully fit guided missile who would relish a squatter giving her a canter
-
August 18th 19th 2007 I am of the opinion that if someone wanted to course a pekinese so be it as long as they want to have a bit of fun,It shows what sort of speed agility and grace a lurcher must have . we have a coursing tournament on the sat for family pets non sighthound with a trophy, and then a pedigree tournament, then the real deal is on the Sunday 32 dog lurcher stake. Last year we also at the end of the racing ran the fastest lurcher against a honda 400cc racing quad over 100metres guess what won hang on this could be another thread. Your right tommo these would have shown so

In my opinion there are two levels of fitness summer fit where a dog is being walked and playing about running after and fetching a ball Good way of keeping a dog fit. Then there is Working fit very important for someone new to know a dog will need even if fit a few nights chasing and catching before he is working fit.

People make mistake of blowing or calling really loud foxes have highly sensitive hearing if you see one take the light off him and give him some quiet squeaks, are you using a filter I find the red best when looking for him try and keep the lamp about a foot in front of him so you can just see his eyes, try and keep down wind of him when starting you call your positioning sounds right if you are using something to hide your backdrop, now is also a bad time to try calling as you are caling adults not cubs which are easier, also try and get up early first light and give it a try they might be lamp

Sorry to hear about your loss mate good luck with her safe return, dog thieves are the scum of the earth, hope the only thing they catch is a dose of crabs
