If Rodenticides were banned.......???
heart of wales replied to a topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I don't remember you managing when you were with us A? You were a surveyor who wanted to be a trainer if I remember correctly? Why bullshit? I think people still think of national big companies like they were twenty years ago. Most of the top five companies now offer ferreting as a service, and regularly use traps. Matt I hope you were joking when you called me a bullshitter I had as you well know several posts with Cannon Rentokil technican trainer supervisor surveyor sales trainer sales manager Cannon I started as a technicain self employed then never was a surveyo -
FAO Pro Mole Trappers
heart of wales replied to dogs-n-natives's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
I use the tape and check mine within 24hrs the badgers dont tend to pinch as many now,I put some soil over the end of the tape to hold it down as the sheep eat and pull the traps out if it is blowing in the wind -
If Rodenticides were banned.......???
heart of wales replied to a topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
Who needs Tony Blair the RSPCA and all the other bunny hugging brigade if this how rural and Town pestcontrollers reguard each other , Iam fortunate enough to own my company after working and managing two of the largest ,my area is both rural and town best of both worlds. Pest contollers werever they work like all trades have good and bad believe me I have seen them, however I believe that the majority of pest contollers are well trained and educated and are very dedicated to their work there is good money to be earned yes but you have to work for it,certain situations clients demand certain -
had to laugh mouse trap
heart of wales replied to scottishlass's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
The only time we would ever and I would ever use them now is if it is a very heavy infestation or else all other methods have failed, they gain quicker control of the problem than poision and provide a cheaper alternative, however they should only be placed when they can be checked every 12 hours Numbered along with a plan, didnt realise you wanted a method statement with every post. -
Bought mine from Kilgerm whatever you do make sure they are geniune fenn not the chinese type they are shit will break after one go

had to laugh mouse trap
heart of wales replied to scottishlass's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
We used these a lot when I worked for Rentokil very effective if used correctly, had a mate once who was shall we say clumsy to the extreme,we used to make them once from TAK TOO and cardoard ,on his first tak board treatment it was a golf club and I was to go with him to show him how to do it,unfortunatley I was held up for over an hour and he decided it was easy and started on without me,he had made behind the storeroom door the steward had gone in to see him opened the door and knocked him on top of them  laughed I nearly pisssed myself it took me an hour to get them of him. -
First sorry for your loss Anyone who has had dogs all their life will tell you there are good ones as well as bad ones Dont you feel bad sometimes you try everything which it sounds like you have and it simply means the dogs not right in the head. Someone sugested a shock collar Never use a shock collar on a animal when it is aggressive it will simply become more agressive particulary a bull cross as they have high tolerance to pain. When sourcing the breeding pair for Your next look for something that ticks all the boxes i.e good temprement working ability never use anything that ha

Working Beardie Collie Stud Dog

These Dogs can be seen in any stock working trial, the Son in the photo started working sheep today only born in end of July, and I think that they would make the start of a good working strain. -
Working Beardie Collie Stud Dog
heart of wales replied to heart of wales's topic in Optics and Night Vision
No cross in these they are pure working Beardie collies,They are currently working daily our sheep flock of 2500 and cattle,we dont encourage our sheep dogs to work any other quarry as they tend to piss off and work squirells or rabbits when you want them to concentrate on sheep, here is a photo of one of their sons, back to a Jack russell dont ask accidental mating. -
I have available to selective bitches My Two Farm Working Beardie Collies,These dogs have sired strong pups, they will add courage stamina inteligence and courage into the mix.

beadie collie greyhound any pics
heart of wales replied to dicky das's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Sorry to say that there is no beardie blood in those dogs. Border collie, fell collie if you like to call them that is the most recent collie used. Ooty pup is a brother to Bear, red dog was from earlier litter. Nice looking dog -
Treat your first permission like gold dust, respect the people who own the property, and their property, phone before you turn up,if they are happy with you they will tell their mates, and it will build up from there. Good Luck with Your permission

You make some very good points Merle ,me personally I would always want to see the make up of my dog,but I am a fussy b*****d, My thoughts are also if the dog has not got the guts to face a sheep and the stamina to do a good days farm work would be fit enough to use in the hunting field it is just intresting the cross used and if anything was known about the sire or dam,and is its temprement showing through in its pups, some cracking pictures and feedback, confirming that if you get a good one and bring it on well they are as good if not better than any cross.

Had the same prob with a border bitch nothing you can do really except be careful. Developed a system of hanging her upside down by her tail choking her off and flicking all at the same time to get her to release the hedgehog an interesting sight!! Whilst on the subject is it me or have hedgehogs virtually disappeared? Intresting observation around our way Hedgehogs are virtually non exsistent whilst one of their main predators is thriving

Thanks for the reply WH it is intresting because if I were to use any of mine for Lurcher breeding I know what type I would use,Got my own thoughts on what is happening to the breed, but that is another reply.

Before we go any further I like collies have a great deal of respect for them ,I currently have Two beardie collies and Two border collies this is not a knocking thread,it is a fact finding one,now that is out of the way. There are plenty of lurcher people on here with collie cross Lurchers, after speaking to several people who work collies,I keep getting told the same thing, that they are not hard enough for Pen work, they will do the work out in the field, but when it comes down to getting up close and pushing sheep or cattle hard they havent got no guts. When you bought or bred your collie c
