When retrieve training I only give the pup three retrieves per session and no more than twice a day.therefore the pup won't get bored.also I start in a hall or side entrance of a house,lane etc so the dog has no choice but to pass me with watever it is he's retrieving.it also helps to mix it up from maybe a tennis ball to a half full water bottle or stick to keep it different and eventually when he's doing it perfect a dead rabbit to get him used to mouthing a rabbit.this will all help to prepare him for his first catch.atb

Fight them against each other in a length of twelve inch drain pipe.just a joke.if you know your earths ,start with shallow digs where you'll break trough in twenty mins or a half hour and build their fitness from there like you'd do by bringing a pup to a pup hole!people seem to forget experienced older dogs can be over matched too!

I used to use large stones an arms length into the burrow when I was a kid.I'd then spook the rabbits and when they got as far as they could go they'd just sit there and you could pull them out.it saves untangling rabbits from your nets and if the game keeper shows up you can be on your toes without abandoning all your nets!
