  1. Nice looking pup uru.
  2. Clancy, if I were you I'd check out some american hunting boards. I don't know many that are open but I see pups for sale or free on vargy's coyote board all the time. Don't get hung up on the jagds or the patterdales there are other types of working terriers around... expecially your neck of the woods.
  3. I know a man with some excellent hounds that keeps a pair of welsh terriers. He imported them from some european country. My good hunting friend saw them on video and said they were a decent couple of dogs. He thought they were lakies.
  4. Try finding a video of a good working fell, lakeland, white dog, bull dog... etc. etc. Video taping and pictures are the last thing on my list of what to do while hunting. I've seen equal numbers of good jagds and good patterdales. But they are very different dogs.
  5. Ridiculous. And they are the authority on animal welfare. What A-Holes!
  6. Bearinator, That was a cool excerpt. I am trying to figure out how to hunt them with regular success here. But it seems that bolting them is what was most common in england back in the day as well as compared to a dig. I've bolted many but digging one seems trickier. I'm gonna figure it out though. I wish there were videos from back in the day when they were doing it your side of the pond. I tail all the game I am familiar with but man nothing is freakier than trying to get hands on a dog when it's into it with an otter. I grabbed at a beaver last week for the tail and I swear that thing turne
  7. I'd like to hear those stories borderscot. Good stuff. i love the water hunting.
  8. The image doesn't matter to your enemies. Enemies to dog sports will forever remain in their ways. It is people who are on the fence not knowing anything about it but feeling some involvement through media that need a good perspective. I mentioned terrierwork at college the other day and it's interesting how people who knew nothing about it assumed that the dogs love it. So people who are not swayed by media already can easily be swayed toward supporting hunting.
  9. Liam, I thought I told you I didn't want the pictures of my dog I sent you to be put up on here. He got fond of the Guinness when he came over. Like owner like dog as they say.

  11. I've seen some pups out of one of your dogs erik and they were bat eared as well. Doesn't matter really but it's funny.
  12. There you have it everybody! Jagds can walk on water!
  13. Bluecollar, Tipper is a tank but this bitch is a whole different kind of animal as far as structure goes. Small chest but built to the hilt as far as bone structure and power in the hind quarters. One glance is all it takes to see the bitch has done her share.
  14. I don't think there's any mixxing with that bitch bluecollar.
  15. I like small ears on the dogs. If it weren't for that I'd think nuttal.
  16. I'm with tilearthdouspart. I have been trying to figure out what people are bragging about with "self-entering". Maybe I just don't understand it but if your working dogs single then aren't they one hundred percent self entered? This last season on two occasions I underestimated a couple pups. My dog located inside a hollow tree and while I worked that out my buddies dog had another coon in the ground a few hundred yards down the river. His dog drew his coon and mine couldn't reach his unless I cut the tree down. So I pulled my dog out and ran to my buddy. I held my adult dog but left the litt
  17. From what I've read the border has never been a thriving breed. It's the same old song and dance for the past years as far as books tell the history. The tale goes that they are late to start and don't have high percentages even when bred worker to worker. It's a pity. I really like what i hear about borders and if I could get a brace of good ones I would but the risk of wasting my time is too high at the moment with the state my yard is in. Forget about money, who wants to spend two years time and time again waiting for a dog to turn out then it never does. On the other side of the coin I ag
  18. Probably into Necrophilia. Come to think of it... It was in the doggy position
  19. I am curious about the increase in terrier size as well. I have seen this tall spanable chest type of terrier work and the legs do not fold up!. In a small tube the back legs are stretched out behind the dog. The dog is virtually dragging his back end through the tube. p3d That is what I thought might happen. I will find out but I've always kept a well balanced sort of dog that doesn't look either leggy or short. Just average mutt looking dogs but they get there and get it done. I wish I could see more dogs work than I have access to but someday I'll have first hand experience
