  9. now we are talking mud,,,the way HTL should be before we are overtooken by the show pony birrgade lol that's one ugly dog ,,,ive got a couple off ugly dogs too but as they say looks don't kill mud lol
  10. now when u say bitten by a squeaker ,,,yeah only then I would say 2year plus,,,,u hav a good point their poacher,,,as younger I would say hit or miss....on them,,would safe a lot of dogs getting rehomed,,but naturally u would wait longer on a squeaker for that as I see too many young guys passing them about cos they wont do them a 12 month,,,i,e big squeakers
  11. my point was going on young dogs ,,,,do u wait two year hold them back or let them go,,,,in a way I propbley posted in wrong topic ,,,torn between 1st season dogs and holding back topic...... big bags only prove one thing I think barr dog man how fit yer dog is and land u have asscess to .....is a dogs prey drive to keep going,,,,hence I always fancied andys don dog to put to my whipgrey,,,for breeding for me a big bag if possible if lucky enough proves one thing (preydrive ) the rest is up to my training pretty much
  12. poacher ,,,no one will pick on what uve said,,,,as every part of contry and terrain is diffrent I,e highland lamping is different to lowland lamping,,,,some plls look at me strange when I say that,,,,but its true ,,,horses for courses and numbers and oppertunitties can vary a lot for a young dog ,,,,,depending on the area in the country they live in,,and species
  13. true ,,,,but when 3 figure bag happens,,,there is a lot off sitters,,,but it is still a shift for dogs,,,,,iam agreeing with you,,, poacher most importantly tests young dogs prey drive ,,,as ull be surprised how many lurchers will get fed up in such a number easy rabbits or not
  14. very true shaark once growing done,,this got me thinking on ,,on holding back topic on htl ,,,,iam I doing wrong ,,,,someone said dogs 26 month not done much which is fair play if its going to be a large dog still got growing to do and mature but whens all said and done ,,,,a yearlying full off life and fit ,,when I talk about a yearlying 15month to 18month ,,,all going well ,,why shouldn't they be ,,,,???? I could wait till that one night as over 2year old and dog could end it carreer in one run,,,,,i belive hold pups back,,,,but 1st season yearlings give them a go
  15. 110 rabbits on very wet night...for 1st season dogs i.e yearlings...as debate do u think thats too much i.e some hold dogs back nearly and somtimes two or over two year old before testing them hence do u let a good night pass cause dogs a yearling
