  1. Get a mate to ring to arrange to go buy the pup. He wont entertain you. But YOU turn up instead and put the c**t on sticks for the rest of his life
  2. Unfortunately theres so many idiots in lurchers who would actually be serious about axpecting a pup of that age to work. But LOL! Good post Whenever i have a pup i take it out for the dog walk/ ferreting session from day one. It stays inside my coat untill its had its jabs then i let it follow along untill its tired and then back in my coat. This way it gets to watch what it will be doing as an adult by seeing my adults doing it. As and when i judge it to be ready i leave a hole or two unnetted. And by 6 months or so old i have them out lamping, not to run but again to watch.

  9. Your welcome mate. How old is yours? They do just "get it" eventually. Keep getting as close as you can before slipping. And dont slip untill the rabbit moves. You should feel the lead go tight as his body stiffens as he sees it. If you have a mate with an experienced dog it would be good to go just for your dog to watch. do they all just get it eventually? cos mine still touch and go wether he runs the beam to find it or not cos most nights i cant get very close to them round my way No, they wont "just" get it eventually mate. You gotta put effort in, teach them and persevere. If you

  11. Dont use it anything with collie blood
  12. A proper dog man would start the dog at an age where it was mentally ready for work and if a problem developes will work it out, not think about getting rid.
  13. Same way as teaching the come here whistle mate. Go to your local park or whatever at night. Chuck out a toy, send him to it, call him back and switch light off. Repeat. After a while he will associate light off with come here. Same as when your whiste training you say come here then pip the whistle. He will get it

  17. Drontal or milbemax. Both are good. Drontals easier to come by tho. Neithers cheap but they work and thats the important bit. I have to buy 3 packs of 6 to do my lot! 3 of my lot get 3 each. The other 3 get 2 each. But its better than giving them rubbish that doesnt work.
  18. Unless its to keep the farmer/ keeper happy i never use nets. Dogs only. We dont catch them all but we do catch most of them. As said it keeps the dogs fit and happy, its more sporting and its more fun
  19. As far as i know EVERY rural area has its "wildlife crime" division. And all the keepers and farmers in that area will make notes of any motor they see that they suspect, anyone they see looking a bit sus in a field etc etc and pass it onto the wildlife crime officer. And when the keeper sais to the wildlife crime officer "iv seen a transit van reg number bla bla parked up in the lane" the copper looks on his computer and sais "ah thats registered to john smith of bla bla address" then he looks and sees john smiths been done for running deer a couple of years back, a few ferreting offences
  20. Put the c**ts address on here, im sure someone will sort it out
  21. Emma Skinner - Tuesday 31st July at 9pm 3 men in a white van pulled up outside my house. One of them opened my side gate went into the garden and stole my black and white pygmy goat called Bella. They then returned 30 minutes later to try and steal our horse. The white van had 2 ladders on the roof and had the registration EK09 EPD. If anyone has heard or seen anything please call the police, we have filed a report and they are looking for her. We are all devastated Bella has gone, she is part of our family. If you can help by telling our story or at least passing on the information to friends
