  5. I think it's harder to actually get a kill on rabbits, I had a operation on my knee so went round our land in the car but the getting in n out of the car scared the rabbits off?

Quite offended by some of these comments I'm a 17 year old lass and work my dogs on rabbits hares pre bam and ferreting, I would of liked to of tried foxes but had no 1 to do it with and my dog isn't up to it, but to be honest I wouldn't no were to start purely because my dad got me started working and he had never done foxes, it would be stupid to go straight in so like everyone else no matter what sex needs to start somewhere !!!

  8. My problems the opposite to most posts on thus website ... My dogs fine with the ferrets but when iv let the dog near the kits a few times they've gone to grab onto his legs and I don't want 1 biting him and putting the dog off. It's never happened with my older 1s so will they grow out of it?? Cheers
  9. When there young I blow on there face the shock makes em let go but only works on the young ones otherwise a good flick on their nose end. Once bought a older ferret was a real f**** once he had hold there was no letting go .... Until he had water poured over his head didn't take long before he gave up haha

  12. I agree with KittleRox my whippet was similar enjoyed the chase but didn't seem to know that he was supposed to kill it. Took him ferreting after a few days and the taste for a rabbit next time we went out he new his job atb with the pup Nat

  14. I wouldn't of thought so it usually takes about 3/5 days before my jills come out of season but this is the 1s I wanted pregnant.
  15. I had one that did this once for no apparant reason, it was her first (and last litter ) so I didn't touch them but had a peak just to see how many she had. A couple of days later I noticed the nest had gone quiet do went in and only had 5 left!( she previously had about 10) So I took them out and hand reared them... Complete pain in the arse feeding every 2hours fr the first week!

  17. Ours get fresh rabbits in summer whole usually lasts a cage of 2 2 days. And they get a defrosted ones in winter( unless there's one a ferrets had hold of and I don't want it ) with dry food.
  18. My best working hob is a albino and he producing some very good working albinos. It's never seemed to effect mine.

  21. Iv got a beddy whippet x beddy whippet bit in the small size but ideal for what I want, ferreting and lamping rabbits. He's a good lil worker so far but a good family loyal dog in the house. Good first lurcher
  22. prefer eventing and hunting myself ... but Moorlands totalis is amazing!!
  23. i feed mine most meat... but theyre really not keen on liver lol
