  4. either angle grind it so its open or the "trade" way is to fill it up with sand.... all it is a saftey thing of the water building up pressure. mine was drilled and all pipes removed and have run it for 5 years with no porbs.
  5. the deepest ive ever seen proof of and not in a rock pile was 24ft........... i think 10ft is far enough to be called a good dig!

  15. proably mate, but then we all learn somthing new everyday!! edited.... have i missed something,we have been talking about the above commnets, all quotes are from either that or other post in this topic.
  16. so why didnt you say, "when a hound got hold of a fox it was over quick".... im affraid your original statement is uneductaed and goes noway to disspell the mith that they "rip the fox to bits while its still alive"... she must really know nothing to of not seen a pack of hounds killing a fox with all the properganda and photos of recent years.... ive never once seen a picture of one hound killing a fox and the rest of the pack watching. eductation is the key, your obviously doing well to help this, but im affraid the mix ups come when miss truths are told and more questions are asked....
  17. I agree with your point that "the pack leader" is not always the lead hound. In my experience before the ban was in place and i witnessed the demise of a fox, 1 single hound always arrived at his quarry before the pack descends. . . . . commonly referred to as the "lead hound", regardless of it's pack status. I think the terminology used was the confusion here. lead hound.... maybe. pack leader defiantly not. lead hound is generally referred to as a hound that is commonly at the front of a pack when they are in full motion. in a mixed pack generally a bitch, not the best
  18. short, sweet and to the point... there was nothing more i could say. i suspect that your real statistic should be, 9 times out of 10 most people never see the foxes demise. i suspect this is the case here. the lead hound may well be the first to the fox but the lead hound is not always the "pack leader" and certainlly is not 9 times out of 10 the hound that deals the vital blow. that is a fact, that is why the comment is bollocks.
  19. you can disagree all you like, its still bollocks.
  20. not regularly but i get out when ever i get chance!, ie when ever one of my horsey mates will take me along! cheers hyperion im glad, im also glad your doing your bit for the huniting world..... but without trying to put you down, this is just nonsense... "when the hound catch the fox its the job of the pack leader to finnish the fox no other dog! and its the same dog every time thats does it and belive me its quick! fox hounds are very powerfull dogs! " its best to stcik to facts incases like this and not fairy tale dribble.
