    Out with a friend ferreting one day. Ferret had hold of a rabbit under ground near enough an entrance but was just out of reach. My pal dug down but ferret and rabbit had moved a bit so he was shoulder deep with his hand down the hole feeling around to try grab it. But while his head was facing away from me i reached up the entrance and grabbed him by the hand and let a roar. Poor f****r nearly shit his pants.

    in an insane world, is it not better to be a bit mad ? Lets be honest pal ,the lurcher section is made up mostly of a bunch of fuckers out on there own walkin through fields, grave yards, dark lanes and even mad fuckers hiding in drain pipes from the cops at 3 am while normal people are asleep in there beds .. i dont know many dogmen that arnt a little mad.     i shoot a spot that I'll to pass a grave yard and I've to lead up my gsp to get her to go by it ha weird bitchwith her superior sence of smell she can probably detect even the smallest amount of poo in your undies and just doesnt want to walk near you.     ive ran a couple of different xs over the last few years but honestly nothing has worked as well for me as this whippet for the particular type of ground i hunt. If i hunted different land / quarry more regularily i would definetly be looking to add someting else to the mix .

    has he good feet on him, i hear people say some of the racing lines have bad or injury prone feet, but for all i know its just hear say. Kind of the reason i started this topic. I really want to see what these different types are like and hear from their owners about their good and bad pionts instead of a guy that knows a guy with racing whippets and cant wait to knock them.     im no breeder so i would like to hear opinions from people that know there way around a ped or have a good understanding of genetics. Dogs ped name is blue pride of ireland , ped is on whippet archives, ive no idea how to add link. If somebody could.. much apprieciated! Anyway .. question is this ..after looking at ped and seeing how this dog is bred, if you really liked what you had and knew he was fairly typical of his line would you breed this particular dog back to an s.s line bitch or take a chance on an outcross ? Any opinions welcome

    Dont know all the details but died very recently. Only a young man with two kids. To meet him was to like him. A real carachter and a gentle giant ( unless you got on the wrong side of him) lol. well known and liked in the dog game .loved his working dogs of all types and a wealth of knowledge. Hope your finally at peace now big man. Keep at them dogs while your up there !

    Fair point / question ..But let me ans that with a question, were would a dog buy pure bee pollen in the wild yet the health benefits to dogs and again horses are very high. It has been proven to improve performance in horses and some use it for performence in dogs and to help produce larger litters . Same could be said for garlic.. as far as im aware its not part of a dogs natural diet unless it gets it through eating the intestines of a prey animal which is probably very unlikely in most parts of the world yet the health benefits are brilliant when given fresh and in the right amounts.     no. Im happy enough for her to chase on, as most rabbits i bolt have a very good chance of making it to the next piece of cover.. its that close. So its a plus when she bolts and carries on the hunt but thats a good idea.. i have a dummy i could use to get her in and give more oppertunities for praise for finding. Thanks for the tip

    Ive heard it has lots of health benefits. I recently started feeding a ready made barf diet and the oil they use is coconut. I believe its widely used now in the horse game also

    A friend of mines dog. Over 21" not sure of exact size. Coarsing lines. Good dog to mark, very high prey drive, but bit more indipendent minded. Longer and stronger in the body than some whippets . Has feet like a collie, cant ever imagine this dog springing a toe. Very good coat for a whippet and seems to have a thicker hide.
