  1. Bolting rabbits are hard enough in some spots for even the lighting sharp exceleration of a pure whippet so I imagine the addition of a high % of bull blood in to any whippet won't make a better ferreting dog. But I've been led to believe that Powell's stuff is generally not shy of teeth. I have never seen one of these dogs work, but I have seen a couple of pics of these dogs showing signs of hard graft. I would of imagined they be a handy little tool for a terrier man . Am I wrong ? , (honest question)
  2. mother's doing a great job with them. All big lumps for their age
  3. Bitch pup I'm holding back . 2 weeks old on Friday.
  4. Don't think it's too strange a request.. there are working spaniels with peds. Working whippets with peds. P.b.t ,s all come with a ped (although not governed by the kc) same with some wheatens, it would not be unusual to get a wheaten pup with a written ped , or a well bred saluki. Nothing wrong with traceability. As long as your talking working bred animals, it's a fair question for this site
  5. I think if people want that extra bit of sand in a little knock about mooching dog. Main reason I would opt for bull over beddy is where I come from its easier to find a well bred pit bull then it is to find a pet bull. Where as you say it's a very big "if" finding a Bedlington worthy of its name. Having said that I know the Beddy x will end up physically more versatile than a 1st x bullxwhippet. I suppose it's a trade off while taking into consideration what a man wants from his dog. Me personally, I love bumping into old Charlie on my daily mooches. So although I'm more a daytime rabbitin
  6. They are both crackers wezza, glad you're happy with them. If they work as good as they look your made up.
  7. All joking aside. I like what I've heard from people working his stuff
  8. nah " pocket rocket is Jason powells thing. I'm gonna have to come up with my own catchy name. Lol.. I'm thinking "brenners bull whippets" so at least when people are slating the dogs, they know who to direct the stick at ;-)
  9. On a serious note. Came home from work today to find one of the male pups dead. I had a feeling he was going down hill, but Ide rather nature do its thing and weed out the weakest rather than stepping in to help.he was the runt. The rest are all little lumps and doing well
  10. some day .... if I continue to find the best blood I can personally find and breed tight and true to it and create a tidy line of useful bullxwhippets, I too can be well known enough to be publicly ridiculed on the hunting life... That's when u know you've made it in life.. LolIt's very easy to achieve, trust me!!! First you leave a 12 month old bitch from your litter in a pen with a whippet male, just claim an accidental mating. Then a 3/4 dog from the resulting litter can mate bitches at 10 mths old!! The same 3/4 dog can mate the full bull and other related 1/2 bitches and bing
  11. thanks hubbs. She's been a good mother to them so far.
  12. must be a pocket rocket if it took two fields to catch a winged bird... 13. Yeh jeemes. Funny thing is, they seem to be all black. Sire is blue and sires both parents are blue. I'm not interested in colour although given the choice I like a dark coloured dog. Maybe it's the high percentage of sooty Sam in sire that threw the blacks.i definitely thought Ide get a mixed bag of colours coming from her end.I stand corrected. The pups have touch of red running through them it seems. I'm not sure what colour they will end as they grow but they are not a solid black

  16. I'll try get a decent pic up tomorrow eve . This Bitch won't let me near the pups. She,d take my fingers sooner then let me near them
  17. Pups hit the ground on Friday afternoon. Difficult birth for the bitch but a shot of oxytocin a friend came over with saved the day. I was hoping for a at least a couple of bitches to choose from as luck would have it. 5 dogs 1 bitch. At least I wont have any trouble choosing lol.
  18. Thought so too. I know of a lad into performance dogs who switched back from a meat diet to dry food after a couple of weeks of not seeing results. Must send him this article.
  19. Yeh, feet will be one of the draw backs of this 1St x alright. Something I'll have to keep an eye on
