    i find sand about the best pete as shaving can and will contain dust mite no good for respitory system also find hold mite from the eye, kiln sand hold cured minerals and 90% bacteria free.and wood chips as bad as shaving mate,that my opinon and had birds 20 years mate

    know the lad who is having the dog he will get a good home with him mate and fair play to ya, had my old terrier till 13 and a few lads on here got the shock of there life last year when 4 good terriers couldnt put charlie out of bales, the old girl came out of retirement to bolt 3 out of them bales that day and a fair few lads can verify that say no names ha ha but lost her back end but i would,nt have culled her part on my hunting life so fair play to finding her a new home mate

    you need to colour feed gnasher soon as the bird starts moulting I use carophyl best around,i usually start old birds in the water on there second round as they start moulting the odd feather and then in there water and egg food for chicks on the third round,first round of chicks get colour feed 1 week after been took out of nest, I don't feed seed to young canaries to completely coloured, I use egg food ,crushed bread crumbs ,soak seed .a little touch of aniseed oil all with colour feed until all chicks coloured up then introduce seed to them hope this helps
