  2. Feck me, both of these boy's have joined within the last month and are expert's @ dropping some well known names? i wonder if these gents have been caught out under a different user name? one miniute he want's a pup,the next pup's are going to be for sale? something stink's big time!!!!
  3. Well most of the names that have been mentioned above have been dead for years so they must be way back in the line, not alot of point in quoting them!!!!!!!!!
  4. Hello Ric, most of the boar in this area are in Gloucestershire(forest of dean) with a few over the border in Herefordshire, they have become quite shy and more nocturnal over the last couple of year's mainly because of poaching, we have shot seven this winter and out of those three of them had small caliber bullet's lodged in them!!!(found when skinned) You definately need a heavy bullet to stop them i.e. large caliber, quite often the boar will run on but if you leave a couple mins after your shot they are normally easy enough to find! Stando - Yeah, Forest of Dean it is. My mistake.

  7. Had the same thing happen a couple of season's ago,you wont get a signal if your box was "off" when you lost it,good luck in finding it though, you might be lucky when the snow melts,
  8. Exactly my point!!! might as well bang your head against a brick wall pal, you can't educate pork the minority will fek it up for us all. Yep,think your right Demon Digger, they must all be expert's,probably the same boy's you see at the show's with smashed dog's thinking there clever, even if most of them got that way from "stop ends"
  9. Has anybody else noticed alot of post's on here lad's talk about "sets",dont know if it's just me but it's not the brightest description of an earth, you never know who is flicking through these post's!!!!!!!!!! i.e. rabbit=burrow, fox=earths, badgers=sets!!!!!!!!!!!IT'S NOT FECKING ROCKET SCIENCE!!!!!
  10. I think you would be far better off not rushing into getting a pup and wait until you have saved up some money and buy one from somebody you know or who has been recommended, look at the dog's working on the shoot's you mentioned and if you see a good worker ask the owner where he got it from? did he breed it hiself? Anyone who has a litter of pup's has put alot of time, effort, and if there spaniel's expence(docking, chipping etc) into rearing them so they are going to ask a fee!!! if you get a good dog it will be worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. Hello tonka, could you p.m. me some info please!

  17. I had minor to work as a youngster for brian after he had shown him a couple of things, the dog was a mixer/bayer,if he could get hold he would,if not he was only a couple of inches from his quarry and if it didn't bolt it was alway's in a stop-end,the dog was an excellent finder and stayer and did alot of work while he was with me!

  19. Nice animal!!!!!!!!!!!! guess it must be moccas or eastnor?
  20. Had a similar problem a couple of years ago,if it's poss try and catch the dog or dog's and get somebody else to hand them into the nearest dog warden saying they found the dog's wandering, when the farmer has to pay to get them back once or twice he will soon start keeping them under control, most farmers dont like parting with thier cash as a rule!!!!!!!!
