Hi all, Forgive me if this is a frequently asked question but is there any reason I can't use an O / U game gun for clays? I know game SG's are lighter so I may get a bit of a kicking but other than that? Gun is a Beretta Multi-choke. Cheers, Mick.

Know how you feel mate, My dad was diagnosed with cancer last Christmas, had surgery and all the chemotherapy, thought he'd had it to be honest. Strong bugger that he is got the all clear three weeks ago, I shed a few tears at both events. Tell your Dad to take pics of every Munroe he climbs from now on and post them up on a hope section on here, too many people hear about cancer and just give up. ATB to you and your Dad, Mick.

Hi all, Thinking of selling my HW97K + Hawke scope. Woodwork has one very minor ding (doubt you'd spot it if I didn't mention it) Blueing is slightly faded in a couple of spots, very, very accurate rifle, nails bunny's all day long if you are up to the task. Only selling it because I want to buy a new shotgun. Looking for £250, collect only from Lancashire. PM me if interested and I'll put up a couple of pics, if not I'll trade it in. .410 is a shotgun mate, therefore you would need a Shotgun Certificate (SGC) not a Firearms Certificate (FAC). Not sure on minimum age for a FAC but if you can prove you have a requirement for a Shotgun you are old enough. Don't wish to be rude but I suggest you have a read up. Mick. -
Hi all, Relatively new to shooting but have always kept dogs. I love my Mastiffs but they are and always will be pets, keen to get and bring on a gun dog (spaniel or lab) but haven't a clue where to start. Does a book exist for people like me? ATB Mick.

Yes you can mate, just write t the sherrifs once you have purchased. As for using a semi for clays, some clubs will let you, some wont. To prove it's not loaded you can buy a little plastic flag that fits in the chamber when it's unloaded. Hope that helps, Mick.

I am meeting Clint tomorrow to buy this gun. If the sale is as described I will buy it and let you know. If the sale is not as described I won't buy it and let you know why not. I'm sure Clint won't object either way, if I do buy it I wonder if anybody will have the balls to apologise... End of.

I'm sure I'm not the only person that found the "Pinned" topics on how to apply for FAC & SGC helpful (The one's at the top of the page by Sporting Shooter). Was wondering if anybody would be willing to write a similar thread on applying for a variation as I haven't a clue and don't like admitting as much to my FEO. Cheers, Mick.

Hi all, Picked up my first rifle on Monday night but didn't get around to posting the paperwork untill Wednesday due to work. Obviously sent the form to the firearms unit recorded delivery but I've just been on to the Post Office's website and tracked it, and it hasn't been delivered! Doubt there would be anybody there to receive it on a Saturday, Sunday is out leaving only Monday! I have the receipt to prove I posted it in good time, does this absolve me or am I in the $hit already? Mick.

Back to saws, I have a Stihl & a Husqy, both bloody good saws and about the same price. Don't know why but I always pick up the Stihl first...

What's a URN number? Its basically the number the police assistance desk give you when you phone up to tell them you are out lamping. Normally I only do this if I am going to be out and about near a residential area. Thanks.
