    Hi Lee - makes sense - Lacey Ern was a tall plummer - nicknamed Big Ern – he was described by a registrar as having been a barrel on stilts – Jay was out of Stanhill Billy another leggy plummer. I asked the same registrar once about avoiding racey dogs as I prefer mine less so and was told Legion Randal has Stanhill Billy directly in his pedigree too plus his grand dam was related to Billy – his sire Ben was her grandsire … so Stanhill Billy all round. Malice went then to the same place as Jay Fireman

    There has been one or twoI saw a photo a while back of Cereberus - one of the most oft used studs in plummer terriers - and he looked quite 'racey' Out of curiosity whats the breeding of your dog Lee?

    Didn't realise there were many plummers in Ireland - anyone know much about the sire? Whats he doing? Why did they use him?

    Johnny terrier work is much different from gun work - the spaniels tails get smashed up in brambles and thicket - mostly cut up, on occasion broken, often infections set in and gangrene because the infection can't be seen under the hair. Its much better to dock ahead of having the dog suffer.

    In a word BBB, Nose, i havent seen any other type of terrier that comes close to a Plummer in that dept, buster. But is this quality being actively maintained?
