Was just being facetious mate ?. Been out and about in the countryside all my life, and still haven't seen certain things that some people have seen, even though they've spent probably less than a hundredth the amount of time in the countryside than I have. And that's the point I've been trying to make. My 1st job, trainee underkeeper. 2nd job pest control. Kept and worked lurchers since the 70's, lived all my life surrounded by fields, woods etc. Fished the same river, taff, off and on for forty years, day and night, which has otters on, and I've still not seen one otter ?

Dunno really, sort of a bit taken aback by you quoting sections of public decency acts. You may well be correct, I don't know much of any laws etc really, apart from 'thy CERTAINLY SHALT NOT COVET THY NEIGHBOURS WIFE!!! The f***ing sow!! ?

I know quite a few people with hancock lurchers that don't even own a computer, let alone be a member on a site like this. And said dogs are excellent workers. Just saying lol ?

I think for general mooching, where you don't intend doing 'TEETH' ? lol, on a regular basis, or slaughter a hundred rats in a session, they'd be fine. Like you say, they are very intelligent, easily taught to retrieve, and are happy little dogs, I'm assuming you mean min poodle, would give a more water resistant coat than most bedlington crosses I've seen, and whippets are easily trained, and as far as I'm concerned personally, don't have any negatives apart from sometimes having too thin a coat. Personally I'd go for it

Good post that t c. I've been thinking similar to d l for a couple of years, something different/new to what I've normally kept. Been a few litters I've liked the look of the last couple of years, with a one parent being a lamper/alrounder, the other a coursing type. I've only had two running dogs with saluki in, one over 35 years ago, bought as a pup and was the epitome of everything bad you sometimes read about salukis, even though there wasn't that much saluki at all in either parent, put me off em for years. Thought I'd give it another try about 4 years ago, bought one at roughly 10-11 mon

I very well know otters are indigenous to the uk, and even at their lowest numbers, they still would've been far more common than non indigenous big cats. I, and almost every person I know, have NEVER seen a wild otter, and only two people I know, one a part time bailiff on the taff, has only seen two, in about 10 years, the other, sadly passed away a couple of years ago, general countryman and superb angler, that fished the taff all his life, saw one, about 6 years ago. The river taff, south wales, which I've lived less than 300 yards from for most of my life, in different areas, is now among the 10 cleanest rivers in britain. Kingfishers, dippers, wagtails, mallards, widgeon, grebes, little and great crested, and a host of other birds and wildlife, are regularly seen, including otters, that two of my mates have seen,but I've still yet to see one, and I've fished and walked many stretches of it regularly.
