  1. Think most people on here are a bit preoccupied at moment mate, with this covid nonsense etc. ?
  2. An old mate of mine worked there for about a year. Used to get a few things from there 'at a good price'. ?. Shop has relocated, for years now. Still in ponty, market square ?
  3. You've got me beaten mate. You're getting a tad too esoteric for me ?
  4. Yeah, but at least you can smile about it. We couldn't even smile ?
  5. Mate, f**k the rendang off for the time being, and concentrate on the beef madras you wanted to do. I'm assuming you now have all the ingredients to do that, so crack on with that. Leave other curry dishes etc, til your comfortable doing the ones that are more manageable for now. ?
  6. If I remember correctly, I believe it was wilf that recommended the rendang ?
  7. Higgins is certainly looking composed and in control. O'sullivan is looking less than interested, again.
  8. I remember buying a bag of that once from caddy's pet shop in ponty, when it first came out. ONCE!! ??
  9. I agree with you mate. But I've been to see loads of litters over the years, for myself, with friends, with family. Some of the places had to be seen to be believed as to how shockingly bad, dirty, shitty, and scruffy the places were, with the bitch and pups cowering and covered in filth, terriers and lurcher litters. Been to hancocks a couple of times, most recently about 6 years ago, and when I was there, there were a few dogs out and about the place, friendly, coming up to me and my son to be fussed, every litter of pups we looked at, were all friendly, approachable and enquisitive. All
  10. Yes mate, I remember you mentioning your old dog. Remus was just beardie wasn't he, no border in him? And if that's the case, with your dog, there must be plenty more that were also mentally sound dogs. Maybe it was me at that time, about 35 years ago, more than the dog? I was certainly less understanding in general, than I am now. But the other dogs with beardie in I've seen, then and since, were all pretty similar. God knows? Lol ?
  11. Yes mate ?, also, I have to say that my old dog, sired by taffy to a very greyhoundy lurcher x lurcher bitch, was my best catch dog, BUT, he was a f****r to live with, and did indeed become harder to live with year by year lol. At the time I just put it down to him being a bit headstrong, weird, obtuse even lol. But after hearing and seeing a few others with beardie in, from the early dogs to the later ones, behaving similarly, I can only assume it must be the beardie in them that makes them behave that way?
  12. Wouldn't have even been mentioned if that ref made that decision for england ? Wasn't being obtuse Arry lol ?
  13. As said mate, I really do think it's 90% down to the owner how any lurcher turns out. Most lurchers are fairly sensitive as pups, and if the owner is an overbearing nerk, that shouts at his pup for the slightest thing, or gives it a slap for doing what most pups generally do, but he's too stupid/ignorant to realise it's just a pup thing, then the pup will turn out nervy, jittery and less obedient Give the same pup to a caring, knowledgeable owner, that pup would very likely turn out very useful. Not saying the 2 nervous wrecks you saw were owned by nerks lol, but without knowing t
  14. Spot on. Seen/know several dogs from hancocks, that have made superb workers, taking allsorts, up and down the country. Common denominator; all owned by people that know dogs/lurchers. Giving them time to develope, and a bit of patience, and NOT trying to get their dogs catching all and sundry by the time it's 18 months old. It really can be that simple.
  15. I still have a few family members dotted around cardiff, and spent the last 12 years of my working life in cardiff, portmanmoor road ind estate. Still got a few friends down there I go to visit now and again. Some great weekends ? Obviously not this last year though lol ?
