  10. He also has a very good 3/4 greyhound 1/4 deerhound. Looks to be a belter.
  11. 100% ?, hey, but as long as you can sell some books and fool some people that know no different, it's ok!!
  12. Or, ............. THE DOG'S TOOOO YOUNG!! ? ?
  13. Scoff you might, they actually exist! Lol
  14. ? Though I will say, I've seen several rabbits tie some good dogs, on rabbits and hares, in absoluts knots, and escape.
  15. Not really something I have a lot of experience with. I've only had a limited amount of experience with saluki bred dogs lol. I just don't seem to get on with them lol.
  16. Well there we are, if someone expects a young dog to run a 100 rabbits before catching one, the dog is obviously too young! ?
  17. I know you're jesting blacky lol, but none of my pups have ever been asked/tried to catch anything on purpose, different when you're out on a walk and a rabbit gets up and they chase it, before they are about 13/14 months, and then it'll be some easy as I can make it, lamped rabbits for a while. But that's me, always been the same. My old man and his mate kept greyhounds, from the 70's til very early 80's, and used to stress to me about leaving a running dog mature a bit and let it 'grow into itself' before starting em properly.
  18. Yes, but a lot of people didn't take it as light hearted, hunting themed entertainment, and took it as 'gospel'. Not me, before you think otherwise. But I personally think that the tripe he wrote about his terriers and lurchers catching x amount by the time they were 4, 5, 6 months old etc etc, is a lot of the problem why many newcomers getting into dogs and hunting, are expecting WAY TOO MUCH of their pups and getting pissed off that their 8, 9, or 10 month old pup is struggling with catching stuff. It's still a pup!
  19. Oooh I can see the hostile replies piling up on this one! ?
  20. Plenty of people with running dogs don't want the hassle and risk involved with actually working them. And as has already been said, some types/crosses can be really driven, and will pay no heed to any possible danger. The fact that you're actually seen him in action, and are expressing some of these possible worries/concerns etc, looks pretty good to me. I'm sure you'll be ok with him. ?
  21. Could be the way to go, especially if you don't intend eating what he might catch? Anyway, he certainly is a nice looking dog, you've got him looking decent enough already. ?
  22. Well up until fairly recently, I've been ok reading/struggling with many posts on here. I know not everyone is good at spelling, grammar etc, but I've sometimes had a try at some posts, and given up and moved on, which is a shame, as some of these fellas have some interesting and valid things to say. But there we are, things move on. ?
  23. I an I iz gonna rock down to electric avenue, seen. ?
