I'm sure some do................nothing to do with the police as a whole though is it..... Maybe 90% then There is a culture of bullying within the training college that's currently being investigated, there's also a culture of sticking up for each other no matter what. One of my mates was told upon reaching his station "The only friends you have are within the force now, so forget your civvy ones...". Says it all to me really. Maybe they would.....i can assure you that they must feel a bit of comfort knowing that assualting an officer is a serious offence. If it wasn't they would be getting sparkled day in day out. I dont know the sentences involved but if some twat stabbed you they would more and likely get a slap on the knuckles or very little time in jail. How many Police officers would get stabbed if the same rules applied.?

Think i'll add i dont think for one minute that there life is worth any more than any member of the general public. What you have to look at is the legal system, its flawed and outdated. So if the powers at be cant stand up and make a stance for lets "An eye for an eye!" then we are well and truly f****d. You know this country is f****d, the laws are terrible and its getting worse. My point in assulating/killing an officer must carry a higher legal sentence is so that we can have a police force in the first place.......i would like it too be the same for Firefighters and the Ambulance service

Do you think any of these police officers want murders out on bail mate? I dont think so!! Again you are talking about the legal system and not police officers going about there job. I death of a police officer must carry a harder sentence than a general member of the public or you will not get anyone signing up. The police know that 99% of the time they can go into situations without any backlash.....most people realise an assault or worse on a police officer is going to be dealt with very seriously.
