Then it’s a all rounder not a specialist dog ain’t it? Same can be said for rabbiting dogs there’s loads of dogs that are bred with rabbit in mind that could an do take deer hare fox....even the odd whippet ?
-
You’ve answered your own question asked ?? but still a specialist fox dog is not on the same level as a specialist rabbit dog were Rabbits are concerned it’s kind of like saying a bull greyhound has the same catch rate in the coursing field as a saluki greyhound or a fox dog as the same catch rate as a deer dog bred for that job. Honestly how many foxing lads do you know that can be bothered with fecking about running a fox dog on rabbits if there’s a nights of foxing ahead of them if I was after a dog for anything that moves (not a specialist dog) an i could get out regularly more th

Because there’s so much stuff in there it’ll throw all sorts it’s been years of Lurcher to lurcher breeding its made up of bits an batts if I go to a greyhound or deerhound greyhound I can iron out an polish up a bit i roughly known what I’m going to get an what I’d like now i got the type/stamp sorted I’m basically wanting to use my bitch as a base blood to start a line/type to keep for my self if I breed down the road an keep a bitch it’ll go to this bitches brother if I keep a dog out my bitch it’ll go back to its mother but also keeping a eye on my bitches litter mates to see what there b

Good for you but your talking of truths ive gave you one no one as denying nothing there’s dogs out there that’s not your dog an still have the running dog game in hand perfectly an there not saluki bred ??But trying to compare your dog to other specialist dogs would make you or me foolish they are what they are.....chancers dogs that’s what we use em for??
-
We all know a good old fashioned Lurchers still rate top dog they might not be the best as specialist but handy enough if you like a chancer type of dog that don’t put you in one category of hunter.....now that’s a truth????

That’s the bitch I’m on about I bred her dam that was line bred collie greyhound deerhound greyhound whippet greyhound x to a f1 bedlington greyhound the sire to this bitch was a similar bred Jackie drakeford bred bitch to a f1 bedlington greyhound dog it’s a right hotch potch breeding in her but works well enough for me the whole litter seems to be pretty decent an usable it’s her first season this year id say she’s the best dog I’ve had out the last 3 dogs I’ve had an probably the best season I’ve had in the last 5-6seasons I’m content with her hope she carries on as she’s done for me this s

I don’t keep just rabbiting dogs I like more from a dog without calling a specialist of nothing a chancers dog if you like or a dog that’s just a used dog. The same can be said from a specialist fox dogs there not taking no more than one or two a night if Lucks on there side it’s also debatable how many times a week month I think it was you that said this yesterday with a bit of mathematics on numbers .I don’t look at rabbiting men or there dogs any less in comparison to one another we graded all the same but even the most unlikely rabbit mans dog will fold the odd fox up here an there or dro

You’ve already asked me before ?? Because it’s a fecking mongrely thing that’s percentages favoured to base higher it’s been worker to worker lurcher to lurcher bred for years....your own words yourself in the past on here you can’t keep going Lurcher to Lurchers without dropping a bit of sight hound now an then?? The times come to simplify things I’m happy with what my bitch is doing for me I want to line breed the type as it suits me to the ground with my bitch as the base blood to a greyhound hopefully keep a bitch or 2 that then down the road if it’s any good can go to my bitch Now
-
No bull in it that’s good enough for me got a drop of border terrier an saluki on one side of the breeding way back in the 90s at some point that’s bad enough ??but hey could of been worse could be modern day shit that was put in there from the money spinners that are about breeding for money now days..got some nice hits of decent beddy crosses in there perfect for me
-
Lurcher to Lurcher mate right old mix up breeding
-
Here’s a spanner in the works I think my dogs better than loads of dogs on here specialist an none specialist but that’s only my opinion because she suits me an what I need an I’m happy to feed ??as far as trainability goes the cross I keep suits me to the ground ps my dogs better than all of yours ?
-
1 is 1 mate they all rate the same were specialist is concerned 40 runs to 150runs who’s worked harder in there specialist field a runs a run no quarry wants to get caught a specialist fox dogs job an breeding is kill quick once caught a rabbit specialist caught an back to hand quick 1 is 1 that’s the face value of it not if they can be graded to be a all rounder out there specialist field only all rounder can be graded against another all rounder it’d be kind of like putting a fox dog in a rabbit numbers catching contest the advantages are in one dogs favour more than the other or vise versa
-
? mate we on the same page ??No dog is better than another with all the variables in there it’s only on the man with the dog on slip can say if it’s good or not an that’s based on what that man needs for his land an what suits him or her to another man the same dog can be that mans turd
-
Probably but your talking of a all rounder used for a bit of everything rather than just sticking to one quarry an grading just on that alone I get what you saying
-
Here’s one to play on the other foot if a dog is useless because its only used to catch rabbits (I’m speaking in general)were does that leave specialist dogs used for just one roll deer, fox, pigs, hare, rats if the owner has no interest in nothing else bar the quarry he/she has the dog for?out of all these quarry what is the most valued I think in my eyes any quarry caught by your dog/s has the same face value as a catch is a catch none rates higher than another were purpose bred is concerned 1 is 1 so the way I look at it is a man can go do 40 fox or what ever a season with his purpose bred kill

most people in the hunting game feel they need to prove that there good dog men/women or that they got a good dog in there hands...the difference is when you know your handy with dogs getting them to do your bidding an the dogs doing your bidding there’s nothing left to prove to no one because your content it becomes just normal to you at the same time you don’t feel the need to tell people my dogs better than yours or this cross is better than yours or feel the need to grade there dogs for them.
-
We all fecking mad on here ain’t we or didn’t I get the memo
