    I’ve been concentrating on my own fitness rather than the dogs there’s plenty of time left to get a dog somewhere near ready for some runs more near the time I’ve kept the dog relatively fit as she’s excised daily she comes out jogging with me every other day I’m not having a dog busting with fitness beginning of season to run green gear it’s pointless better to bringing them in slow an steady behind gear than have them peak to quickly but to be honest I’m never going to need a dog that’s a super fit machine I just need a dog fit enough to catch shit.

    I like collie xs a lot so much so I have collie blood in my dogs but to say they better than a straight bull x if the dog for the jobs used for killing a bull x has it in the bag if that’s the job if your on about rabbiting I’d agree collie x all the way some are more but not many

    I recon the reason you don’t see many first crosses is because of the lack of decent base blood to use to create a genuine f1 of any cross be it herder or terrier type.people look at it why take the risk creating a lurcher that will be found wanting in most cases when what your trying to create is already here an available In front of us. Most first crosses or heavy base blood Lurchers are hard pushed in modern times to catch stuff regularly unless dropped on top of stuff or if the land you hunt is bountiful
