i aint low minded thats why i started this to see if anybody has seen them work even tho they look like poofy little show dogs you cant judge a book by its cover etc and they look capable of a few rabbit so thought id ask on here.i know some show dogs can work but they bred mainly for looks.they not working dogs til they work.its like if you were a looking for a decent boxer would you look in a boxing gym or a modelling agency.
mine does it sometimes but he dont bury it just stands there looking sheepish one night walked about 3-4hours when i was starting him on the lamp seen 2 rabbit all night right on the edge so didnt slip him on the way home walking through some wasteground small clearing in long grass flicled it on rabbit squats so slip him didnt think hed get it but dpne well soon as he got it he ran into the long grass calling him for ages he came out without it got a good bond so dont know why they do it
my dog 12month old saluki bed whippet dog has the coat and skin you on about looks sound in the dry but get a bit of water on his back and the top layer sticks together amd hardly no undercoat you can see his skin when it rains too soft and linty but looks a good coat in the dry
the coats on the ones in the mag weremuch longer like a borzoi and why have they 'created' a running dog breed just for showing i know a lot of people show whippets but the breed was originaly for coursing hunting etc so if it dont add anything to ability then seems a waste of time making a new breed just to look at
true but when youre starting out you dont know the right way and if his bro aint always around to guide him it would be all to easy to make mistakes and lose intetest especially at that age
fair play for taking the time to help him out and wanting to keep him out of trouble hope you get him a decent little dog and he has years of fun with it
cheers mate that fur would get caked running and sliding about in some fields here lately maybe if i was into show dogs but think theres better about for what i want love to see one behind a decent rabbit though
i like the look of them but if they are out and out show dogs i dont think id waste my time trying to get hold of one and take the risk.ive never seen a litter for sale and i bet they dont come cheap.
thought they might be. probably why ive never heard of them before. the article give me the impression they use them for work aswell but not surprised what load of waffle some of them write in there these days
did anyone see these in the cmw this week look like a decent rabbit dog like a whippet sized borzoi but they look a bit showy if u know what i mean any one know any more about them what they like to work with etc. think they originate from america
anyone ever been done for the armed tresspass thing.does it sound more serious than it is,and what sort of time would you get if you had a criminal record.(not planning on doing it by the way just curious)
got back from running the dog and noticed one of the toes on his bsck foot was swollen he has lot of fur round his feet so may be an older injury than i think as he still runs ok.flexed the toe to see if any pain and seems normal movement no grinding or clicking but slight discomfort.been running him a bit more last few weeks only exercise tp get him fit.its swelled up hard like bone on the first knuckle after the nail dont see any bruising just a bit red.would the swelling have gone down if it was an old injury
had dogs dislocate toes and tore ligaments but the toes just went flat.this one
Does he pant much mate my mate had a dog years ago was always panting used to cough a lot after a run he was a bit older than yours but turned out he had heart trouble had to have tablets and went to a pet home with his mum.dont want to worry you and it dont sound like the same from what u say .just thought id let u know hope the dogs ok probably a seed or obstruction or maybe just a cough but best to get it checked mate
