How old is the pup? Try having her out with the kids and when she starts to get rough shut her back in the kennel. Do this every time the kids are out she will soon learn to associate that getting to rough means she's not allowed to play.

Alright Ben, try getting a decent book on ferreting and also see if you can find anyone who doe's a bit. I'm sure there will be someone near to you who will take you out and show you the ropes.
