  3. i think either will do that, especially if you use a 3/4 cross....i run a beddyx and a wheatenx and both of em dont do too bad! good luck with the mating! cheers, matt

  5. id personally stick with a beddyx, maybe a 3/4grey 1/4 beddy, but i suppose any mix would produce a handy dog for most things! cheers, matt

  10. mate, for what its worth , you will probably get your ass kicked for such a question, but i would suggest a beddlington/whippet cross of some description,but there are lads with far more knowledge on that front than myself. hope you find what you are looking for! cheers, matt
  11. the only 2 wheatens i know both are a bit touchy round other dogs and both are well socialised. but they are top class grafters from my limited knowledge of the breed!

  15. not a terrier owner myself but, a sensible bayer will always last longer than mixer!....but, depends what you want in your digging dogs!
  16. not been tested on things that bite back yet, i want to let him mature to at least 8months old before i get him on the bigger stuff!

  19. cheers lads, plenty of petrol in the tank of the old fella yet, he just does things at his own pace as opposed to my pace....he's no slouch but just tends to be economical with his pace. he only ever been worked steady, not stupidly hard. was just interested in other folks opinions and views on older working dogs. cheers, matt
  20. just been watching 1 of my lurchers and noticed that he is lacking in a little speed as he aproaches the age of 6, but he makes up for it with brains(somthing that he wasnt blessed with). he will continue to work for as long as his health allows which will be for alot of years yet i hope. i was just wondering whast the oldest any of you have seen or owned still working no matter how minimal the job. cheers, matt

RC, i was going to give you a lesson in how to make every pike in the lake ignore any lure u use.....seems im pretty good at that so far this season....it your catching to many just gimme a shout and i can show u how i go about catching sod all, all day! somthing ive made a bit of an art form of!
