  8. probably best to tag along with somone who has a good terrier and see the ins and outs of the whole game.....thats what i do! its not as straight forward as it seems, but can easily be picked up with a few seasons under your belt...im no terrier man at all but i know a few lads that know the score, another thing worth mentioning is to make sure you are completely comfertable using the locator as this can be the difference between a dead dog and a live one. its not all about digging holes either, tidying up is just as important! good luck mate. cheers, matt
  9. so....what sort of lines/strains should i be looking into to achieve a dog of this size? im in no hurry at all but any other views and info would be great, as with all dog breeding there will always be a small element of guess work as regards to exact sizes but thats where all your lads experiencs will help me. cheers, matt

  11. yes....makes a lot of sense!
  12. there is no wrong or right way of bringing a pup on, but i do think there is an accepted "good practice"...as long as you are happy to work the dog then good for you...by the way, both of my dogs hardly retrieve and that is fully down to my "bad practice"....no one is perfect, but some people have a better grasp on how thing should be done.....im not one of em! all the best with your dog, just hope its not for sale next season due to jacking from being over matched too early cheers, matt
  13. listen lad your obviously easy led buy the puppy peddler kreet. you have a very big opinion on working whippets for your age get your own mind will you. 23 inch aint a whippet if its kc bred from whippets thrown back to the bull or grey sligthly doe;s that not make it a whippet dont be silly. you got to much of an opinion. and the matter of fact you are kreet

  18. pureley rabbits mate, im pretty sure smaller whippets will take just as many as bigger whippets, my black dog is very whippety in his appearance even though he is only 1/4 whippet and he dont do too bad on most things that i need him to do. im also very interested in the various strains/lines of whippets and how they differ. im sure you will find a pic or two if you look through my previous posts just give you an idea of what i mean. cheers, matt
  19. i dont want anything massive, just 22" maybe 23" if thats possible. ive seen lots of whippets that are very small and they just aint my thing. my current dogs are 22" and 23"
