  1. ffs there is someone on fb complaining about the bit when the parents were taking the horse upstairs, she said her child was watching it at the time and she might aswell just tell him that she keeps the prezzies in the attic, what is this f*****g country coming to? a nation of do gooders and whingers.
  2. hi martin, i wouldn't worry about feeding the dogs raw herring, if you have them feed them, i used to feed them and mackerel to my dogs, i havn't been out sea fishing this year or i would still be feeding them the mackerel as they loved it, cheers......john
  3. how often do you lads feed your dogs when not lamping, i have always fed my dogs twice a day, 9am and again at 6pm
  4. john, all is good. not geting out as much as i would like to but thats life. when we do go out catching a few but no biggies as of yet. most the waterways up our way are choked with weed making fishing with the boat damn near impossible :wallbash: hopefully it will soon die off never made it down your way yet but do hope to give it a lash in the future. i been keeping an eye on your local website down there, some nice fish being caught.... what about yourself any big ladies under your belt this season. niall_b73 the weed would be a bit of a problem, it's the same here
  5. hi niall, hows the fishing going for you mate? I prefer to tie my braid directly onto the spool, once i have filled up the spool as much as i can i then feed it through the eyes of my rod and tie on a 3oz bomb weight, cast out into the water or even a field (which ever is handier) and then reel in, i find this helps to tighten the line onto the reel. cheers......john

  13. i have used a few of the ss ones but they blow away there that thin and light and abit pricey 10 for 3 when you can go buy them cheep nylon straps you use for trailers and get someone with a sawing machine to make a handle you get quit a few from them for about 4 quid. them bright orange ones, no chance of losing them

  15. don't think there is any harm in starting a dog early, just as long as it is done slowly and the handler has to be patient, I started my dog at 5 mths out ferreting once a week for 2 hrs, just letting her have a look at whats going on, introduced her to the lamp at 7mths old 2 weeks ago, only 2-3 hrs once a week out with a mate and his dog letting her see how it's done, at the end of the night giving her an easy slip, she has caught and retreived a rabbit both nights and caught her first daytime rabbit yesterday while out for a walk, iam no expert but this way has worked for me and my dog, she

  21. lol, im wearing the same clothes so it's the same fish, how can it be the same peg when it is 2 different venues, there is 2 pics of the same pike and only because 1 of them is in the water when it was being released and you can't see it properly so i put up the other pic that was taken of same fish other than that they are all different fish, and even if it was the same peg on all the pics which it isn't, so what? that lake that i fish is part of a 3 lake system and it just so happens that perticular peg can be very productive at certain times of the year, as for your pb of 50lb+ i don't thin
