  9. There seems to be a few dogs have gone missing around the notts derby border areas at the minute thats three or four lurchers and terriers ive heard of now all roughly within a 30 mile radius as well that seems very suspicious either its a great coincedence or there is a dog thief ring operating which has me bloody worried they really are the lowest of the low in the dog world hope he gets it back mate ill keep my eye out around here and spread the word Regards hedz

If you get the countrymans weekly there is always full spread adverts for books that range from 14.99 upto £35 most of j.darcys books as well as dave harcombes books are there as well as other authors ie sean frain and b.plummer etc try and find a local terrier man thats genuine and see if he can help its good to see your going to read abit before you jump in but nothing beats hands on if you can get it Regards hedz
  12. All breeds have the potential to be decent dogs if they are bred right and entered right, ive seen some quality dogs work in most breeds, i have to admit ive never seen any decent bedlingtons but ive never had much to do with the breed am sure there is some good ones out there and have heard of a few it all comes down to what you want mate and what you plan to do with it in the future, make sure what ever you get is from good reliable working stock and some one genuine

  14. Ive kept two lines that i had both at the same time the first being a line of lakie type russells that i had from when i was 12 years old till about 2003 as i ended the line with the last terrier being given to joe hefferman a dog called brock being 12 when i had the first dog from the line i am not 100% sure the blood in them as the bitch was bought for me by my parents from a farmer in nottinghamshire i was going out regular with a couple of old chaps digging ratting etc and i used to clean there pigeons out and do odd jobs for them and they gave me a 2 year old terrier a dog who i was told
  15. Who has slagged your opinion off folk simply said why would you want to put a heavily base blooded lurcher across something that is nearly half base blood in the first place, i also fail to see how you have bred this cross for years your only 24 now,all a cross of yours would do across a 5/8ths 3/8ths bitch would do would make the cross more base blood than sight hound which most people try to stay away from as the less sight hound the slower and less pace and punch a dog has,as long as i can remember there has been a pair of belgian shepards on my parents small holding so i dont dislike the b
  16. I would say collie/greyhound for a first dog at your age there quick learners and decent all rounders, but may be to big if you wanted a smaller dog maybe a bedlington whippet, that was the first running dog i had when i was a kid and i had some great times with him and i learnt alot from that little dog ive never owned the cross again not through any fault to the dog just because as i got older my interest in bigger things pulled me to other dogs
  17. Never seen one in the flesh never mind saw one work read a few articles over the years in the countrymans weekly they just seem like a money spinner for folk trying to breed a purpose bred all round dog but come across as a poor substitute to other breeds that could do a chosen task better but i am open minded and if any one would like to show me one work i may change my mind

  19. Yes he was a rough coated dog it sounds like him he was a keen young dog i never worked him to ground as he was 10 months old ,i ended that line to concentrate on my black dogs he was given to some one who i was told gave him to a gamekeeper in cumbria (more like he was sold for a profit) where abouts is this dog that you know pal ?? He bought it off a lad up our way, dug it 2 or 3 times, but it seemed to be going off the boil with old age?? And would bay at fresh air, he sold it back to the lad a couple of month later, don't have a clue where it went?? I know he found out a bit abou
