  3. Chocolate epups buck sounds fishy, and not heard of a dog called satan either and ive had pure buck line for 15 years did this dog satan come from a dog called blade ??
  4. Your bound to get some know it all come up and try and crab on his dogs and john himself, probably some one that has never met him or seen his dogs work as well you know how this site is
  5. Sorry pal this is a thread on john parks line of terriers not brian nuttalls or john cowans
  6. Where has all this jagd come from the lad wants something for a bit of ratting and for showing and something thats ok with livestock i dont think a jagd fits into any of that
  7. Yes but its not really suited to him is it as there is no show class over here for it and its abit over kill for rats lad
  8. Cant fault johns terriers good bloke and good terriers worked with quite a few of them
  9. Hes a big lad for 12 weeks old sires a nice type what way bred is he pal if you dont mind me asking he looks a familiar stamp
  10. theres a few dogs mixed in on nuttall/mason lines they feature quite regular in pedigrees have you got the dogs history ?? what dogs are named in the gordon mason side if you have ??
  11. There both different lines bred by two different men obviously brian nuttalls is a smooth coated black patterdale type and john cowans are rough coated lakeland types type in nuttall and cowan on the search bar you may find something
  12. It dont matter whats in its line, far back or recent or where its coat or head has come from its a fine healthy looking dog hope he does you proud griffo .
  13. Why the preference for the chocolae coat lad just out of curiosity ??
  14. I have to agree with stabba the tiny amount of bull blood cant account for much on the wheaten side part of things, ive had wheaten crosses and wheaten/bull/greyhounds for quite a while and have had smooth coats in litters and on the wheaten cross side ive always thought that the smooth coat simply comes from the greyhound, ive found the fawn rough coat throws more in the 5/8 3/8 crosses
  15. Ive never done much ratting with terriers i always prefered earth work,so perhaps the best ratting dog i ever had was in fact an apbt called billy he was a big red brute lovley natured fantastic with dogs and kids but he was a total demon with rats he would smash his way into anything to get them, my parents have a small holding and next to them is a pheasent farm and i used to walk him with the other dogs around there and he caught hundreds in his life and i did take him on a few occasions with a group of lads that had a medium sized pack of terriers and he held his own rather well with them
  16. I thought bedlington earth dogs were on the rare breeds list lol, cant imagine why you would want to lamp with one it wouldnt be quick enough and would yap and when it had lost what it was chasing would most definatly carry on hunting up
  17. Those birds are game as hell, that cant be right though that wolf mastered that 1st eagle when it got on top and started to shake it they must sustain some right damage the eagles, a wolf has one hell of a bite there must be some trick to it though ie running them for a distance on horse or dropping them out of a bag
  18. Lol fence hopper very true ,if it was a young dog i would of been interested pal been looking for a young greyhound dog for a while
  19. Funny you should metion that pal,ive found a few none of them looked bad they were just stiff and frozen like stuffed animals when i came across them my young lurcher bitch found one only two nights ago when i was out and brought it to me and it really did look like a stuffed bird not seen it like this before where ive found a few and i am not far from you i wonder if its happening else where around the country
  20. Never hunted the quarry you have put up pal so couldnt say for sure, but from what i am told about coyote and for drawing etc i would say something with bull in the bloodline i think my choice would be a bull/greyhound x deerhound/greyhound or a strong 5/8 greyhound 3/8 bull or a wheaten/bull/greyhound
  21. Depends what i am doing i prefer wellies for lamping walking the dogs general mouching about but never wear them when out with the terriers digging, i think wellies are shit for digging they are not good on the soles when useing your feet to push a shovel in they fill up with muck and get uncomfortable when bending down in a hole they also tend to let your feet get cold when stood waiting for a turn on the shovel i always keep a pair of both in my truck and take it from there whatever i am doing
