    If I was in the other blokes shoes... Me and the misses had broken up, I was on the bones off my arse and staying round a mates, it was a nightmare trying too see the kids let alone get any of my stuff, next thing I know, she has got rid of my dog (that I had had as a pup, brought on, she always sayes I put it before her ect) out of spite. right then, maby me and the misses have made up, or I have managed too get on the computer, seen an e-mail or got a chance too check my phone which she wouldnt let me have and theres a number for the person that has my dog... can you see where I

    Alright mate, only ferreting book I have ever bought is called 'Ferreting for the future' by Simon Whitehead. I give it 10/10, and would recomend it to anyone. Before I read the book I didnt have a clue about ferrets and ferreting, its by no way an instant expert and like the others have already suggested, its best too get out in the field but its a good starting point It covers EVERYTHING, from what too look for when getting a ferret, its housing (Hutches, runs and how too clean them propperly), loads about handling them, teaching them not too bite, checking for ailments, all the differ

    Alright mate, I think the best way is to do is get the dog out there with a mate with some other dogs that already who know what there doing, let yours watch whats going on and in no time it should just click and your dog will be raring too get stuck in. Think it is massivly important too have a solid retrive first or things might start too go down hill very quickly. By no way am I an expert, but hope this advice help's. As for books I am not sure, theres a couple of good dvd's knocking about like 'Purdys Progress' and 'Lurcher Field Craft' by Dave Sleight and 'Night Hunter' by Phill Lloy
