Hang on a minute, Murray is scottish. I've no problem with supporting our british sports men/women but when they come out openly stating that they don't follow the same sort of support I personally hope they fail. As for the British sportsmen who just can't cut it at the top I think it stems down to how our sports are handle or the lack of it at the early ages.Until we invest in the youth and push them like other countries we will never be able to compete

Nobody apart from you and your neighbour knows they are there? Unlucky because now You, your neighbour and everybody who reads this post knows they are there Personally I'd leave well alone unless you have plenty of time and money to spare

I have a very well bred cocker out of a field trial champion who's very easy to train, very steady when you want him to be and got all the gears when needed.I've also got an ordinary working cocker who's thick she's hard to train doesn't seem to be able to concentrate for to long and generally not as quick but alot harder work!!

I'll let you into a little secret You want one into horses. They have similar country interest as you so don't drag you out round all the poxy shops and don't give you ear ache while going round the game fairs. They're in and out all differnt times so get it that you want to go hunting and don't moan. And on the plus side they like riding and always have a firm arse And if your getting grief after 3 weeks................

How small are they? My dogs sire is cheweky scholes, dams side is pretty impressive aswell. The bitch does'nt have papers The reason I don't train my dogs to pick up is because I never go picking up I expect them to dog in every day from july through january and on shoot days I can't pick up and run the beaters.there breeding is a mix of wernffrwd, game goer, ammerdown, maesydderwen and gwibernant

For picking up reasons i wont have 1 mate. I wont knock another Gundog for picking up purposes but working the Labs in that deep snow last year confirmed for me that a good strong Lab is what i'll always want to have in my kennels. When your picking up on these big shoot days its essential that you get the dog out quickly and onto another one as soon as(runners i mean).....i've seen some cockers, not many i'll add but they did struggle a little in heavy going. I wouldn't look past one for beating though...there in a league of there own there..... Try one I'll bet you 10p (I know you

Danw, why don't you pick up with your cockers?.Whats your breeding like? And Lab, get one trust me you won't regret it I've a fox red lab bitch which i got from a good breeder at 11 months old.I'll admit she's not that well trained as she thinks she knows better .But i have 2 cockers one of which is well bred from top trialling stock and the other I bought to train up and sell on but fell in love with .The little fella has it all and i'd put him up against any lab picking up i can work him out to a fair old distance and he's bang on the whistle and hand signals. The bitch is still yo

How long do i need to leave a rabbit skin to cure before attachint it to my dummy? I've removed the skin from the rabbit which is now soaking while i decide which recipe to use ( Jamie Olivers essex fried rabbit is looking favourite).I made the smallest hole i could in the belly and pulled the skin off leaving as much of it intact as possible.I've turned it inside out and placed a dummy into it to stop it from shrinking and left it outside to dry out. Is there anything else i need to do?

If you two are going to be shooting aswell do you want me to bring my cockers so you'll atleast have something to shoot at And you'll see first hand how a gundog should be trained

You're right mate lurchers are hunting for themselves. Once you've trained a dog proprerly that does exactly what you want it to when you want it to do it you'll of figured out how to train a dog properly. Anyone with half a brain can help a dog to find it natural instincts true mate and anyone with half a brain can spell "proprerly" properly and 1000s of lurchers will work just as good as a gundog Hahahahahahahaahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaahhahahahahahaahahaahhahahaahahahahahaah......not this old chestnut again.... right then lab answer this s

My first memories of the seventies was a one eyed spitting cobra jabbing me the the eye
-
I'd definately take gordon but I'd still prefer to use hart as first choice

Never understood why the lurchers seem to be used early..maybe thats why so many turn out shite. I'm a firm believer in a pup being a pup and no serious training until 1 year of age.... I'll agree with lab somewhat, by letting a pup be a pup you can see how it is maturing and tailor the training to to suit the individual.I tend to do all the basics from a young age sit/stay, walk to heel, retrieving and build the basics for quartering. Then depending on the pup i'll up the training, but that's not usually until about 10 too 12 months old
