  1. My sentiments exactly mate. Mike.
  2. There is NO logic in that mate. Any ferret bred should be well reared, tame, easy to handle and off good, proven working stock. Shouldn't that be the standard not some higher priced luxury model??? A higher price does not equate to a higher standard of ferret, and in general those selling for a higher price, are interested in the money rather than breeding the best. In my opinion money and working animals do not mix well. I have a litter just that this that was born a couple of days a go. What is surplus to my requirements will go to new homes for free. Ok, explain the
  3. Makes me smile, you lot want a well reared ferret, that is tame and easy to handle, off good, proven working stock, and you want it for a fiver ! At £25, if you're any good, it will pay for itself in one outing ffs ! I've had ferrets work well for 8 years, if you payed £200 you'd still be quids in !
  4. The trouble with buying lurchers is you don't really know what your buying, first you've got the liars who will tell you whatever they think you want to here concerning the breeds involved. But what about the genuine lads you might ask, most of them will have bought from liars in the past. Then when crosses get complicated you've got honest mistakes, so all in all it's easy to see why someone might go to the likes of Hancock. It's not easy these days to find lurchers without bull in them somewhere for instance and how many crosses does it take before some of the breeds get dropped just for the
  5. I've sold plenty at £25 and a fare few at £50, mind you, when I breed,I only breed when I need new stock and I put a lot of time and effort into rearing and handling. Mike.
  6. Not knocking your ferrets mate, look nice small ferrets , any ferret is worth £25 if it's reared right on a good diet and handled daily from the age of about 4 weeks. Only thing is mate, they're not greyhounds, greyhounds are built different and are not necessarily small. Regards Mike.
  7. I was 8 when I started rabbiting with dogs,so that makes it 51 years, scary ! Mike.
  8. You can't be sure they killed the lamb unless it was still alive when you got their, it may have been already dead. Regardless of that, the first thing you should have done, after getting the lead on, is to thrash the dog with the dead lamb whilst giving it the biggest verbal warning of it's life. If you have the patience and ability the dog can be turned round, the shock collar should only be used as a last resort, then only by someone who knows what they are doing. Mike.
  9. That's right mate, most dogs were working dogs to begin with, it's showing that fecked 'em up.
  10. Maybe jackers that pull up fella but a dog that jacks on quarry that bites back if a dog refuses to go to something or back to something that has snapped it whats ye theory on that mine is there cowards and lack bottle That's a different kettle of fish mate, a lot do it because they're over faced to early in life, my theory is if they haven't got the bottle they wouldn't take them in the first place. Another reason dogs jack on bitey stuff is when they are run with unhealed injuries. Mike. Maybe alot jack over matched when not fully mature mentaly but all dogs mature at different ra

  12. Only ever had one dog jack, and that was through injury, it took a tumble, checked it over, it seemed fine. Next slip it ran like a labrador and pulled up. Turned out to be torn back muscles. I've had a few good dogs that had jacked with their previous owners, knowing they were good dogs with idiot owners. I've got them right and run them as dogs, not machines , and never had them jack again. I truly believe jackers are made not born. Mike.
  13. Everybody is banned from entering fields to run Hares anyway !
  14. I think you'll find your pics are of a wood mouse.
  15. It's a wood mouse, legs too long for house mouse. Mike.
  16. They may still be a bit young mate, my old female was 7 before she laid an egg and the male was 4 before he filled an egg. Mike.
  17. You need to first get the bird motivated with, 10 to even 20 single kill outings, with a good kill feed. You are then, with a fit bird, only limited by how long it takes the bird to feel to full to hunt. I personally usually stop at 4, allowing me to still give good rewards. Mike.
  18. Wish I had a quid for everyone I'd been out once with You wouldn't believe how many lampers I've been out with that have to rugby tackle thier dogs after the first slip, only the once like !
  19. Can't even fly the birds here, snow above your knees, 20 yards and your fecked, minus 16 at 10 this morning, warmed right up this afternoon to minus 14! Spent an hour yesterday and 3 hours today digging the car out, and you lot think you've got it bad Birds will need retraining at this rate.
  20. It's probably not as thin as it looks, it's back is flexed which is bound to emphasize the vertebrae, and it's lungs are full, so the ribs are pushed right out, if it was standing normally it would most likely look like a lean fit dog.
  21. Feck me , we've had more overnight. Believe it or not ,there is a row of parked cars in the foreground of the first pic, and that's my car parked in the street on the second.
  22. You hoping to do it twice then mate.
  23. dusting ,we are getting it now in herts We had 16 inches here today, so won't be getting out for awhile.
