lets keep this post going folks been a while since a good coursing post ran on a bit .

hy penny yes i did take a litter out of her to jason bradfords dog and they ran well or the few i saw run did and innan fine thanks and the dogs are .got 2 youngsters here one a first cross i bred myself and a 13 month one out of the same sire tony burns full saluki fingers crossed for good things to come hoping to get up with s next season be good to meet up with old freinds and club members on the feild instead of only at the show. and to those that think only saluki crosses can run 3 mins once. my bitch took 3 out of 3 more than once on the big land but did have a terrific mouth .could sh

i also meant to say that could do it daytime regular not on the lamp because seen plenty that can do it lamping but not so clever behind a longear in the day one on one cheers.

i was wondering how many out there run the big ears with lurchers with no saluki blood at all and how do they measure up . a while back i ran a first cross to first cross deerhound x greyhound and she would catch for fun on feild or fen and giving the hare plenty of start. mind you i have seen loads of u /s ones as well but that goes for any cross inc salukis .my 3 now are saluki crosses but would love to find another deerhound cross that could do it with the style of my old bitch.

my old bull bitchwas a orange tiger coloured brindle and at about 5 yr old changed to a dark brindle almost like a dark dun coloured horse didnt look like the same bitch.

i got 3 at the mo. but got mates with loads what does it matter to anyone else how many dogs someone has as long as they look after and care for them properly.surely thats the main thing .

theres a big differance in giving a pup the odd outing to bring it on and going out hunting proper in the summer .we all know and were taught /told never hunt in a month without an r in it but if truth be told that doesnt hold true anymore cos theres still pregnant does about in sept and they seem to breed most of the year nowadays.i have never classed myself as a summer hunter but would /will go out on the odd occasion to give a pup a slight advantage over what she would get in the winter months. and gotta say theres some bullshit posted on these sites how cansomeone trying to get a run for t

seen a couple and owned a couple over the years but never for very long .thing is nowadays i must be more easily pleased cos the ones i got aint brilliant by a long way but their still in the kennel and aint going nowheremust be a age thing .lol.

try gain ive tried all of them and find it best by far .gain 28% in winter when working and gain 20% during the summer run the greyhounds and lurchers on it . -

in answer to a few questions we did have a assosiation of lurcher clubs but loads couldnt be bothered to join and the main reason it got so hot for coursers was because a certain lot were dtiving the feilds wrecking everythingwith no regard to anything.

been going to gamefairs for near 40 years some better than others but 10 quid for a day out and craic with your mates is still pretty good value imo i always treat it for what it is and thats a day out with like minded folk and a chance to pick up some cheap gear for the following season.dont tend to go to so many now as i used to but still enjoy them for what they are and thats a fun day out with like minded folk and chance to catch up with coursing mates who i dont tend to see much in the summer months /

if you dont like them dont go simple really. but some people not happy if they got nothing to moan about .

lurcher and terrier events over the 4 days went up yesterday from wales to catch up with some coursing mates some cheap gear for sale if you looked about to hot for dogs though left mine at home ten quid to get in not bad really compared to some and what can you do all day for a tenner.also met a few off here not a bad day out really .

if some of you dont rate them fair enough but dont you think all the top coursers and champion greyhound trainers know what they are doing .the big majority wouldnt be without them and ask any greyhound vet ambout the benefits of them.if you got your dog top match or race fit its easier to keep them there if you use a mag boxi have found the benifits huge but if you think its all bullshit what people write about them carry on its everyones own choice .

biggest myth ever put out colour doesnt make the blindest bit of differancein aworking dog seen some top class white dogs over the last 40 odd years.

they are brilliant and help a dog no end watch how your dog runs to get in it my greyhounds rush and try to get in it all at once. and they certainly help to sort out any knocks strains or bunmps wouldnt be without mine .

always enjoy a fast dog with high prey drive they might get more injuries but get me pumping every time .

imo any dog that catches 4 out of 5 on the fens is a fair dog even if its only the once

s basher i have moved on to saluki lurchers but had them same time as i had the deerhound cross got 2 youngsters learning their trade and 1 older one at the mo but none of them compare to rio my deerhound cross on longears . overall everyone knows the saluki lurcher is the main man on longears but that doesnt mean that other crosses cant catch them with style she ran in loads of comps single and doublehanded and was never outclassed win or lose .gotta say i have seen a lot of useless ones but that goes for saluki crosses as well same as any cross you only get out what you put in to them found

had a very good bitch which i bought of him at 5 weeks old plenty on here seen her run on big ears on the fens and caught 3 out of 3 more than once with fair law given no choice in the club i ran in skycat and innan for two of here saw her run caught more than she missed like a lot say you only get out what you put in this bitch had a terrific mouth and was fastand could stay .
